I have a 2017 Surveyor 32' Bunk House Model. It has two exterior entry ways-Main entry and Bathroom entry. We stay at a lot of state parks in the Pacific Northwest. We love all the parks we stay at however some of them are sometimes rustic. With the stock swing out 3 step I found we had to use a step stool to accommodate the height difference from ground to bottom step. This made for some treacherous climbs resulting in wife and kids stumbling numerous times. After seeing the new steps coming stock on new RV's I did some research and found the Lippert Components step options. I found that many of the RV companies use Lippert door and frames so this made sense. There are some very good comparable companies making these but I chose Lippert for a more likely compatible fit. All needed hardware is supplied. Install consisted of removing the original steps...pretty easy and only 4x 9/16 bolts holding assembly on. Remove aluminum threshold transition piece (4 screws); Two options on install, use supplied screws and screw to floor (screws are more than adequate) or the option I chose, drill through floor using template and anchor down for more secure and confident fit. One should really have a second person/helper when installing due to size and awkwardness of steps. The steps are not heavy but needs to be held in position while holes being drilled. adjusting the latch was pretty basic and that was it. Easy. The three step would have worked just as well but having the extra 4th step really helps with the little grand kids we have. Only thing you really need to know before you order is the frame width of your door way. Oh, the screen closes just fine with just a very little bit of rub at bottom of door on sweep. NOTE-if you drill through, be sure to caulk or silicone your bolts and holes for obvious reasons (The obvious reasons being it rains sometimes, yes even when camping). Lippert also sells a storage box that bolts in to the space the stock steps used to be, as well as a hand rail and even a stair lift assist system to make lifting the stairs almost effortless, so they say...Wife and kids love the new steps, they are grippy and sturdy. Needs to be swept good before storage or all that dirt will end up on your floor. Would buy again. Almost wish I could fit a set in our bathroom entry however the setup is not viable for our bathroom. Some really good info/install on YouTube. ... show more

We got this Quad step as an upgrade for our travel trailer. It came stock with the pull out type the at time can be a pain in behind. The install was fairly easy and the absolutely work great. No more fussing with the pull out steps, wish the trailer would have come stock with this set up.

A top notch product that installed quite easily. It took at the most 20 minutes to install. The hardest part was removing the old folding stairs. We did add the carpeting from Lippert as well as our elderly dog found it to be a bit slippery. The extra wide top step is a really welcomed feature especially when exiting the rv. I only wish we had decided to have done this years ago. Just be aware they are designed to fit 2016 and newer RVs. I am 75 yrs old with a back issue and found them to be quite easy to lift and lock in place. GO FOR IT! ... show more

The standard folding steps on my camper were just too “weak”. I didn’t feel secure going in and out. I ordered these not really liking how expensive they are. My husband installed them with no problem. I really like them. They are very solid with nice wide steps. They look great so I ordered another set for the other side. I feel safe going in and out with how sturdy they are. They are easy to use as well. ... show more

Pretty easy installation. Provides MUCH sturdier access. You Tube videos were very helpful. Unfortunately UPS delivered the box pretty beat up. Screws loose in the box and one missing. No inside packaging and the stairs have a bent spot and the top plate was bent. Fortunately had someone to remedy the problem without breaking the powder coat. Too big of a problem for me to return it and get a replacement in time for when I needed them. Next day received the under stair storage box shipped by Amazon and it had foam packaging and no damage. The steps are great! It took about 45 minutes to install them. I'll give you a couple of pointers: First, the bolts that come with these steps are #10-28 and they're 4 inches long. Unless you need that I'd advise you to run over to Home Depot and pick up some 1 1/2" or 2". You might as well grab some extra flat washers while you're there so you can put them on both ends of the mounting bolts. Second, the shipping box is HUGE. Have some space ready. And when you're done list it on Craigslist as a keyboard shipping box and some musician will come pick it up in about 5 minutes. Highly recommend these steps. ... show more

We had the fold down steps originally and was unsure about switching. But these steps are solid and much easier. The fold down ones get rusted and hard to fold out.

Fitted these new steps to my mother’s camper that gets a lot of use from my sister and brother-in-law and my mom for the county fair. Needed something more stable and this was the ticket! Installed on a 2009 keystone sprinter camper. Installation was a big concern. I’ve have saw steps like this installed on older campers where the have had to cut the bottom of the door frame out. I wasn’t too keen on that idea, but desperately needed the added stability. Package arrived slightly damaged, but with little effect on the steps themselves, so installed them. Installation wasn’t a super simple process and took a little out of the box thinking, which I admit is not my strong suit. In order to get the screen door and outside door to shut, I had to use a multitool to shave down the lip on the bottom of the door frame. After doing that, installation was a breeze by following the instructions. Ordered close to prime day, so waited until prime day to see if the handle went on sale. It did not. Purchased anyways. Opinion on the additional purchase of the handle is still out. It seems as though it makes the steps a lot smaller, but can be easily removed. Haven’t had the camper and steps out at a campground yet to comment on setting up, but leave for a 12 day stay at the county fair tomorrow morning. Make sure you measure and follow the measurement listed in the item description to ensure you get the right set. I had an inch on length and probably should’ve only went with the 3 step model, but mom camps in the same lot at the fair every year and that first step is a bit much due to ground level set up conditions, so went with the 4 step model.
