One of my favorite pair of IEM's to listen to EDM/House music with are the KZ Zax. That IEM is unlike the majority of KZ's line of IEM's. While KZ's are known for having a very pronounced V shape sound signature with a mid-range that gets lost under booming bass and almost shrill highs. Because the Zax's are a hybrid and not full armature they have a dynamic driver for the low end and 7 armature drivers per earpiece. The dynamic driver fixes a lot of the boomy low end issues that KZ's had become famous for. What really surprised me when I first listened to them was the presence of the mid-range. It is there and present in all the good ways you would want it to be yet never over powering. It was love at first listen and over the years that I have owned my KZ Zax's they have quickly become the IEM's I always have with me and listen to most often. Anyone who has ever owned a pair of KZ IEM's knows that the weakest part of any of their line is the cable that they include with their IEM's. The stock cable barely passes as something I would give any thought of listening to music through. They leave a lot to be desired. So the first thing to be ditched in a drawer somewhere is the stock cable. For the past year and 7 months I have had two 3rd party cables (the second one replaced the first one when the connection started dropping in and out in the left ear piece), While not the best cables available, they were far superior to the stock cable, they cost around $12 each and both of them lasted over 7 months before the internal wires started breaking at the bend points. I usually keep my phone in my front pocket with the headphones plugged in and I have a bad habit of leaving it that way when I sit down which is why I am very hard on cables and they all succumb to breakage at the bend points. Last week the second 3rd party cable finally started to show signs that death was imminent and the right ear piece was going to stop working very soon. I jumped on Amazon and started looking for a new replacement cable. The Tripowin Zonie caught my eye. Not so much because I knew it had superior sound quality due to its impressive build quality but more for its overall thickness. A 16 core silver plated cable is not going to internally break as easy as a 4 core cable (or at least common sense is on the side of the 16 core cable). Sure, I knew there would be some amount of better sound but I was really thinking about how sturdy that thick cable looked. My first impression upon unpacking the cable was that it really is a quality build using quality parts. As an added bonus it is also stunning looking (dare I say sexy as well). Then I put my trusty Zak's in my ears and kicked off some music. Wow! I didn't even have to think about whether they did or did not sound better. The music now has a noticeably smooth underbelly. The notes seem to be gliding effortlessly in the air. Until I started listening with this cable, I didn't even realize that sound coming out of my Zax's was traveling over a gravel road. At least that is the best way to describe it. I wasn't expecting this level of improvement but the ear to ear smile plastered on my face says a lot about just how good this cable is. Have a pair of IEMs where the original cable is yellowing and has areas that are permanently kinked from age, storage, and use. Got to a point where I couldn't use them anymore because the cord always wiggled them out of my ears. This solved that problem. For the original $400 that these IEMs originally cost, they should have come with something like this. Great quality, MMCX connectors click into place and rotate just the right amount to not interfere with placement. 3.5" plug has a step-down so it'll fit with into your phone even with a case around it. Lost an in-line mic from the old cord, but the whole point of IEMs is that there's isolation, and I don't need to take calls while I'm listening! ... show more

One day delivery! These are a great upgrade for budget iems such as my Moondrop Starfields, especially because the stock cable the Starfields come with is trash. Tripowin has do an excellent job on both the feeling of the wire coating and finish of the end terminals. I bought the light blue color with the .78 2pin 4.4 balanced verison, and couldn't be happier. As far as I can tell, there's isn't any phasing issues; the connection to my Hiby R6 is tight and clean feeling. Overall, these cables are a no brainer if you want an upgrade to your existing stock cables or if you wanna change the stock cables out for a balanced set up. An amazing cable and great price! I like them so much I own 8 of them in various colors and configurations. Well built, light weight, and sturdy! They just work and look great doing so! I do wish they were available in even more colors and with different connector colors though. I own 40 IEMs ranging in price from $7 to >$500 and only one came with a cable anywhere near as nice.     • Great sounding balanced IEM cable

This cable noticeably improved the sound of my Moondrop Kato IEMs, though I can't be certain if it's due to better materials (OEM is just OFC, IIRC), or the fact that now I'm able to use the balanced output from my FiiO KA5 USB dongle. Probably both? The plug ends are very nicely made, though a longer strain relief sleeve seems like it would be a good idea on the 4.4mm plug. The cable is very flexible and doesn't hold its shape aggressively, which is nice, thought the polymer sheathing is grippy enough that it can tug on the IEMs when it rubs across my messenger bag shoulder pad. Nice cable, for moderate cost and better than the stock cable on a set of $100+ IEMs. ... show more

This is so much better than the cable that is included with the KZ IEMs, not because it sounds different, bit because it is heavier and includes a sliding weight to help it slide down your shirt naturally. If you have any truthear iem, you know what their cables are like. Worse than apple earbuds in terms of how bad they tangle, and they have this AWFUL right angle termination. These are an outstanding replacement. No tangles, nice and thick, and no ridiculous right angle termination.
