I am a beginner and I bought these for my new salsa dance class. Realized I needed them because tennis shoes just don’t work! I bought these because they were inexpensive and had leather uppers and they were the best price I could find. I didn’t want to spend a lot just in case I didn’t continue with the classes. Needless to say, I love these shoes! They are so comfortable and they have just enough slide on the bottom that I can make really nice turns. I did measure my foot to the quarter inch and that’s how I bought my shoes and they fit perfectly.

One of the standout features is the arch insert design, which gives excellent support, especially during long rehearsals or performances. As someone who needs good arch support, I appreciate this thoughtful addition. They weren’t hard to break in, and as someone who is doing musicals and other performances that require more movement, these worked wonderfully! I bought these jazz shoes for dance classes, and they’ve been excellent so far. They slip on easily, fit snugly, and provide just the right amount of support and flexibility for movement. Recently, I tried out a pair of unisex leather upper jazz shoes, marketed for both men and women. Initially, I was drawn to their sleek design and the promise of a durable leather construction. On first wear, the leather upper was notably stiff but gave the impression that it would mold well to my feet with some breaking in. The fit was snug and true to size, which is crucial for precise, intricate dance movements. However, as these shoes are labeled unisex, I noticed the cut and shape seemed to favor a wider foot, typical for male sizes, which might not suit every woman’s foot shape. During dance rehearsals, they offered decent flexibility and allowed for smooth turns and slides, thanks to a well-crafted suede sole. The lace-up closure provided secure fastening, and I felt grounded in them during performances. Aesthetically, they looked great paired with different dance outfits and maintained a professional look. But durability might be a concern as the stitching on the sides began showing signs of strain after several intense sessions. These shoes also lacked sufficient arch support, which could be a downside for dancers needing more foot support.
