I ordered this Lined Journal Notebook for Women Men, 192 Pages 100 GSM Thick Paper, Cork & Non-Woven Fabric Cover journal for my husband; who keeps his daily lists and reminders in journal form. This journal is an A5 size; it measures about 5.8” x 8.5”. The journal has 192 pages (both sides of 96 sheets of paper); the paper inside is pale yellow or off white, a sort of faded parchment color. It is college lined; the lines are about 7 mm apart. It lies flat for writing; there’s a slight slope to the book, but it stays open well. We tested a number of different pen types, including fountain pens, felt tips, gel pens, Tombows, razor tipped felt tips, and more; the paper is smooth and the ink flowed easily. There was no bleed through with any of these pens. We also tested a few Sharpies, from slim tipped to wide; the heaviest Sharpie had slight ghosting, but I usually only use those pens to label boxes. I would say the paper did a good job of handling different types of pens and ink. I got this for my husband because it resembled a favorite journal he had some time ago, which had a cork cover. This A5 journal’s cover is mixed medium; it is part cork and partly an off-white fabric. I’m not sure what this fabric is; it has a slight linen look, and the sales page calls it a “non woven fabric”. The journal has an elastic band the same color as the tan cork that you can use to hold the book closed or keep papers tucked inside. There’s an elastic band the same color that you can use to hold your pen and two tan ribbon bookmarks for keeping your place in the journal. At the current price ($7.99) I think you get a really nice little journal at a bargain price. Journals can be very pricey; this one is attractive and well made, with some of the nice grace notes you see in the pricier named journals (like bookmarks, elastic fastener bands, and pen holders) for less than $10. My husband was pleased with this journal; he liked the A5 size and said the page size was ideal for making daily lists. This comes in eight different designs and patterns; at this price, it’s worth stocking up. This could make a nice gift for your family and friends who journal or write or keep lists or bullet journal. It could make a nice gift for yourself. Be aware, if you’re considering this as a gift, it comes in simple plastic wrapping; you might want to pop it in a fancier box designed for gifting.
