Once this is assembled, it looks great and is unbelievably sturdy. I wanted something I could put the breakfast tray on when it was closed and could open it with the tray without spilling a drop of coffee. This is that sturdy. I like the shelf with the sliding door. I love that the table top is split with the larger half being the table I eat from. It's so easy to lift and put back that I leave it in the closed position all of the time. It's an attractive piece of furniture. All of that said - I found it hard to put together. I do all of my furniture assembly myself and this took several hours. It's 20 steps. The directions are excellent, so follow them closely, but there are a lot of screws and things you've got to get just right and in the right place. The screw driver it comes with is garbage - it started to crack early in the process and finally snapped in two. Fortunately I have an excellent phillips screw driver and frankly am glad theirs broke because screwing in the screws was so cumbersome I needed work gloves. With my own good screw driver it was very easy. So, my main advice is: know it will take some time, follow the directions very carefully, have a second person to help, and use your own screw driver. ... show more

After I received it, I found it's much better than I expected. The material is solid; it's not too hard to install; and very functional with big storage space. And the hidden storage compartment under the lift top is fantastic for stashing remotes, blankets, or crafts out of sight. If I could give it no starts I would. It was already broke when I got it. When we went to put one of the dowels in the corners the dowel was too big and Cracked the side. It looked like someone had already tried to put this one together and got to the corners and stopped. Which we should have done but kept going to try and make it work. The corner piece drill holes are too big and won't hold together with the locking bolt. It is made out of MDF but falls apart like old cardboard. It is cute but 100% will not last I'm guessing a year. Currently we have 550 cord holding it together so the wood glue will dry. ... show more
