    • Double-decker is nice for multiple dishes

This carrier is pretty standard. The form an colors are ture to the pictures, and I think it look quite nice. We have gotten a couple of compliments on how it looks. The straps are good and I don’t have any reservations about carrying two full glass pans. The pan on the bottom needs to have a cover on it though, because there is no stiff plate between the upper and lower compartment built into the carrier. It’s worked well for transporting casserole dishes so far, but I haven’t really taken anything on a long trip, so I don’t know how long it would keep food arm for. My only concern is the zippers. They are really small and seem flimsy, like they will end of splitting sooner than later. We’ll see. The straps are sewn to the bottom compartment, so at least if the zippers go, the carrier can still be used. I’d recommend it for the price. It’s nice to have a “double-decker” when you need it, and the price was reasonable. ... show more

Yesterday we took two 9 x 13 dishes to a large gathering of family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner in this carrier. What a nice item! (The food was great too!) It is well made, with good stitching, sturdy fabric, good shape, robust lining, and well made and connected handles/straps. And it passed the visual test as the other guests admired it even though that certainly wasn't the point. Kept the food warm, and it was easy to clean after. We didn't have an opportunity to find out how well it handles a serious spill, but it appears well enough stitched and sealed with sturdy seams that we didn't feel worried about hitting the brakes too hard or taking a turn too sharply and fining casserole all over the passenger seat! Part of its appeal is that it is soft enough to flatten and store but robust enough to hold two heavy dishes securely while being carried by hand or stashed behind the front seat on the floor of the car. Just be aware that even though the two sections form separate zippered compartments, they have a soft barrier between them. That means that though it is enough to keep the two adequately isolated, if you put a heavy dish in the top compartment, it may compress into the lower dish--it is not a rigid "box". Our solution was to simply place an appropriately sized cutting board on top of the bottom dish in its compartment with it. We didn't try to find out if it would have been okay without that. Thirty bucks seemed steep when we ordered it, but it really is worth the money. ... show more

This is one of the best finds on Amazon, hands down. I ordered this for the upcoming holiday season where I usually take a dish or two to two or four or six holiday potlucks. I usually take each dish to the car separately and hope they don’t spill, tip, or break I transit. This little carrier fixes all that while also keeping the food warm. It is very sturdy and I have no worries the handles will break when carrying two heavy casseroles. The insulation is pretty heavy-duty, too, so food is guaranteed to be warm. Oh—and it’s waterproof! So if something leaks in the bag it won’t seep through to the fabric layers (or the seat of the car)! It easily fits two 9x13 Pyrex casserole pans, one on top of the other. It will be heavy, but there is heavy stitching and sturdy material. I have no fears the handles will break and send the casseroles flying! Since there is no barrier between the two dishes (I thought there would be), the bottom dish needs to have a hard lid. I waffled between ordering the single or double carrier and am glad I went with the double. Even with just one dish in the carrier, the dish doesn’t slide around and the carrier doesn’t collapse in on itself. I can’t say enough about how sturdy and well-made this is. There’s 2 separate compartments , x large can do cold or hot. Dark grey with outline black. Also has a zippered front pocket ( for utensils , napkins). Detachable Velcro handle for easy access.

    • Dual Purposes Not Just For Casseroles

I was super excited to get this to transport my all in one dish casseroles to our family get togethers that are out of town. I needed something that will keep my food hot during the trip and until everyone gathers to eat. This did not disappoint! It is thick with insulation and you will want to pack your hot pads inside with your dish if you used them to put the dish in. I wish I had packed mine! Not complaining. ♥ My husband has hijacked my carrier to use for bringing home takeout in. We have other carriers but not insulated like this is. We live 20 minutes from town so having a well insulated carrier to bring the food home in is important. Although it's not meant for this it works fabulous! He puts my stinky Chinese food in one compartment far far away from his ribs in the other compartment. Seriously though, it's very well insulated and keeps food hot. I haven't tried it for cold items yet but with the thick insulation I'm sure it works as good for keeping things cold as it does to keep hot items hot. ... show more
