The Lifetime Kodiak Canoe, like its name implies, is a burly canoe that is as stable as it is strong. Built from blow-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) it is durable, UV-protected, and impact resistant. The hull was designed to defy the tippy canoe stereotype while retaining dependable on-the- water performance through tracking channels and a patented skeg wheel design which also assists with portability. For those looking for a performance boost, the Lifetime Kodiak is rated for use with an electric motor with a thrust rating of 40 lb. Simply assemble the included motor mount bracket and hit the water. The Kodiak includes two comfortable adjustable and removable seatbacks for the bow and stern seats while the center bench seat is suitable for accommodating a third paddler. My wife and I are elderly and though the weight was included in the description we find the canoe very heavy. Other than that, it handles very well in the water the seats are comfortable, and it is very stable. My only complaint is the little wheel in the stern broke the first time we dragged the canoe out of the water. Small stones on the banking got caught up in it and broke it. No big deal just be aware if you drag the canoe using the wheel to help pay attention to the conditions. ... show more

The picture of the canoe I am posting is the photo the shipping company took when they dropped it off at my house at 7:30 am this morning. There was no box and they had removed the bubble wrap. I was not happy about my brand new canoe being all scuffed, scratched, and dinged up. But, it’s a canoe - that’s how it will probably look with a little use anyway. Fortunately there were no holes in it. The plastic is thick (around 1/8”) and durable which makes the canoe almost 100 lbs. Carrying it was no problem for me (I’m a 50 y/o guy) but I could see how some might find it heavy. The carrying handles are a really nice addition. The canoe’s hull is flat and I found it to be stable in the water and moreover good for my kids who want to use it for fishing in our lake. A little peace of mind for mom and dad. The seats are comfortable and the built-in drink holders are good to have. The optional motor mount is a nice addition as well. It does not come installed (you need to drill the holes yourself), but they do supply the hardware and instructions. I’m giving it 4 stars for the poor packaging and resulting damage.     • Nice canoe for the money
This canoe is made from plastic that "gives" if bumped. But remember how plastic works. If stored in the cold in winter it might crack if dropped.. But in warm summer temps, you'd have to work pretty hard to damage it. We store ours in winter tipped on her side on top of a small work/storage bench. Then no need for hooks or anything more than a couple of bungees to hold it steady. ... show more

Great canoe. My wife and I use it on our river. Very comfortable and stable. Skeg wheel is very useful to maneuver. All exactly as described and delivery was very smooth. Great communication.

I received this canoe as a Christmas present, and so far I like it a lot. Durable vinyl hull and the seats seem like quality construction. I fish with it in a lake behind my house. Kinda heavy with the trolling motor attached...
