My wife purchased this chain in June 2020 and gave it to me for my birthday in Sept.. I've worn it since then. I never shower with it on and I live in Iowa so I haven't sweated much yet it's to cold. Anyway the gold coating on it is just about gone. I can clearly see that it is made of some sort of brass. My wife was so excited to give it to me and now she is heart broken. I know to the average person thinks for that money what do you expect. My wife has hardly purchased any jewelry and doesn't know what the description of gold plating is. ( I'm the one who always buys the bling ) I'm not an expert by any means but I do do a little better job in that area. That's not the point. The point is my wife purchased what she thought was a good gold chain for me for my 66 birthday. I'm sure anyone of you who read this can understand the disappointment my wife has. She purchased what she was a gold chain only to find out 3 months later it wasn't gold at all. Be careful all you ladies and men when you purchase what you think is gold.
