I was very surprised to see how inexpensive this case was as I’ve bought LifeProof cases since I first got an iPhone in 2011-12. They used to cost well over $100 and now they’re around $50 for a much larger phone than years past. Even more shocking was to see an Otterbox delivery package then to pull a LifeProof case out of that package. But I looked it up, Otterbox aquired this brand and they now sell the same cases on their website. The purpose of this purchase was to replace what I thought was a poor knockoff of a previous LifeProof case that in less than a year became so scratched that it was almost as bad as a cracked screen. Now I’m aware that it’s probably not a knockoff but that the quality of the LifeProof case has fell off significantly over the years. Every time I make a phone call with the case on my screen goes black and I have to take off the case to hang up the call. As soon as I take the case off the phone comes back on.

I've brought 3 Lifeproof cases over the years for different iPhone models and my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. This is the first time I had an issue with the case. The protection is top notch as expected. The case feels secure and grippy in hand. My gripe comes when I started having issues where people couldn't hear me when I turned on the speakerphone option on my iPhone. After going to Verizon I found that the sound issues went away as soon as I took the case off. Turns out it wasn't a software or network problem but the case was somehow blocking the microphone being used when I turned on the speaker. Have used Lifeproof cases since my first iPhone. Wouldn’t use anything else. Bought this one for a trip to Caribbean since my old one had lost the charge cover. This one is nothing like the ones I’ve had before. The front and back do not seal at all. There is enough space to run your fingernail along the top, bottom and sides. Only place it touches are the corners. Add to that the edges don’t fit tightly are very sharp. So now I’m stuck going to an island with a case that isn’t waterproof and will likely give me a paper cut before I get back. ... show more

I put on a wristlet attachment but the design is poor. The area to add the wristlet to is not one piece so with force, the wristlet popped out.
