  • Just what I wanted
Size: 45 Inch Style: 200Hz Set: HDMI/DP
Disclaimer: I'm down to one far from perfect eye, so my review will intentionally avoid matters of image quality, as I'm hardly qualified to judge I've had this monitor for two weeks now. I needed more screen real estate than my 27" flat could provide, so I gave this a shot. I realized once it arrived that it was almost exactly the size of two 27" monitors side by side, for some perspective. The included stand is very sturdy. It's heavy, has a broad base, and an adjustable VESA standard mount, and I quickly replaced it with an arm mount because it simply took too much of my limited desk space (yes, I have more monitor space than desk space). But it's not a bad stand if you don't mind its legs sprawling across the desk. Brightness is good, although I haven't had to have this in anything like direct sunlight. Unlike my last monitor, an Acer which didn't want to display anything until the computer had been sending a video signal for a minute or two. this doesn't fail to work because of power saving features and just turns on. I have no complaints with the picture, not that I'm difficult to please there. I'm thinking about buying a second one for a ton of screen space, which is about the highest recommendation I can give to something I've owned for two weeks. Something for PC gamers to remember: if you're playing games in the max screen resolution, it's pretty taxing on the hardware. With the same graphics settings on Cyberpunk, going from the 27" monitor on 1440p to 5120 x 1440 on this dropped my FPS from about 170 to 70 ... show more

  • Good budget value ultra wide monitor
Size: 45 Inch Style: 200Hz Set: HDMI/DP
The screen may be of lesser quality compared to other wide screens greater than 40”, but for the value it’s a great introductory into the landscape of ultra wide gaming by a well known brand.

  • In a word... AWESOME!
Size: 45 Inch Style: 200Hz Set: HDMI/DP
I bought this monitor to replace a 24" that I moved to a different location and I wanted access to a wider screen to compare functionality. First thing, I connected this to my apple mini via an HDMI cable and although it worked, the aspect ratio was no where near what I wanted and needed it to me. So, I checked the instructions and realized that it was a totally different cable that I needed. Once I purchased the correct cable, BAM, game changer. The ratio increased big time! It went from 1920 x 1080 via HDMI to a whopping 5120 x 1440 with the correct cable. if you are going to get a large screen like this, I suggest that one read the instructions completely FIRST! Great value for the money that I paid and I would DEFINITELY purchased another one, if the need arose! and it just might! it is a gorgeous screen with a whole lot of screen space. I have it hooked up to some Bose desktop speakers, don't use the screen speakers at all. The clarity is great when watching a youtube video, watching a movie or editing some personal videos of my own with different software. ... show more

  • Terrible ghosting, and USB-C version is too expensive
Size: 45 Inch Style: 200Hz Set: UBS Type-C/HDMI/DP
I got the 32:9 variant of the monitor on this product listing. Specifically, the version with a USB-C port. I ended up returning it. The main determining factor was the VA ghosting. Still images on this monitor look great. But any time there's a high contrast between two colors side by side, there's a horrendous amount of smearing whenever the two colors are moving. The easiest example is using YouTube in dark mode. Any time you scroll, the thumb nails have this weird color shifting effect. Another example that really bothered me was in Sea of Thieves. My ship was painted black, and any time I looked at it against a bright blue sky as the background, I would see a dark green trail follow the ship as I moved my mouse. There's ways to reduce this affect, but they all just reduce the contrast to a point that you might as well have just bought an IPS display. And they don't even fix all of the ghosting problems. Another issue that I believe is related to the ghosting is that any time there is a pattern going across the screen, it becomes extremely jittery. This is an oddly specific example, but if you've played Portal 2, you may remember that the white surfaces have a texture with several small bumps all over the panels, arranged in sort of a grid pattern. When those surfaces were on screen and I was moving my mouse or walking, it felt like the camera was shaking due to the jittery-ness. I bought this monitor without realizing that there was a cheaper variant without the USB-C port. That part is my fault for not doing enough research before making my purchase. However, the non USB-C variant was $550 at the time of purchase, while the variant I bought was $700. $150 for a USB-C port seems absurd to me. My final issue with this monitor isn't anything wrong with this one in particular, moreso with 32:9 monitors in general. They're great for productivity, but many games, especially older ones, don't work well with them. In particular, any game that does not have an FOV slider will not look right. Objects near the sides of the screen end up being stretched to a point that they look much closer to you than they actually are. And most games still place your HUD in the far corners of the screen, meaning you have to look left or right to see it. You can turn the resolution down to 2560 by 1440, but then what's the point in having a 32:9 monitor? Overall, I would not recommend this monitor, especially for gaming. ... show more
