This monitor was a good choice for me because I use it mostly for gaming and it is in a good price range between capable and reasonably priced. This monitor has a good picture quality for 1440p, so make sure to remember it is not a 4k monitor so it won't have a lot of depth if that's what you're looking for. I got it up to 144 hertz and it is really smooth and responsive, and the features that it comes with such as FreeSync support and G-SYNC compatibility have worked very well and they have been very helpful to me. Note to others users if you are thinking of purchasing this: to get the full capability of this monitor buy a display port cable and a nice one. I got a display port cable that was capable of handling 144 hertz at 1440p because they only ship it with a stock HDMI cable. Overall a good monitor with a comfortable curve angle, a high refresh rate, and decent picture quality for a pretty decent price. No regrets with my purchase here, but make sure you familiarize yourself with the stats of this monitor before buying it and do some research to make sure it is what you need.

First off let me say that I love this monitor. I think its definitely worth the asking price. I've been reading a lot of reviews about it having bad ghosting and blur and blah blah blah. I'm coming from playing games on a 4K TV and this is my first gaming monitor ever. I went with the 32 inch and I couldn't be happier. All the people complaining here must have some kind of alien technology in their monitors and their standards seem unattainable. Personally I have no issue with the "ghosting" or "blur" and unless you're some kind of monitor snob then likely neither will you. Most ghosting and motion blur tests are extreme cases, this is the nature of benchmarks, and in more practical everyday use it is a non issue. The resolution and screen size of the 32 inch model is perfect for multitasking, I usually have two windows open and productivity is at an all time high. Overall its a killer monitor, the only Con I can dream of is that its a Freesync panel. G-Sync certification would have made this thing pure gold but at this price point its beyond solid. THIS MONITOR IS G-SYNC COMPATIBLE AND IT WORKS FINE. I haven't seen any flickering or anything like that. Color is good, HDR is perfectly acceptable, refresh rate and resolution are wonderful. If you're looking for your first gaming monitor then buy this one. You will be pleased!

I thank the Samsung gods for this one. This monitor is by far the best in the price range. The quality is amazing, refresh rate never hiccups, the menu is vast and intuitive and the price can't be beat. The curve is almost a little much at first but once you're used to it it feels wrong using a flat monitor (the monitor next to it in the pic is a 21" HP monitor, btw). Gripes: It's not HDR. (And yet, for kicks I turned on HDR10 on Far Cry 5 and it somehow still looks good, better than with it off) The "smart" aspect of it seems more dumb than anything, it turns down the brightness when it senses a black screen. So, you'll be loading a YouTube video, it'll be a black screen so it goes darker. Then the video loads 2 seconds later and the screen takes a second to adjust back. It just disrupts, if anything. It's REALLY big and REALLY Heavy. No joke. This thing is actually a beast. Weighs a ton and doesn't fit on any desk. But hey, you chose this lol Haven't figured out how to use the speakers. I use studio monitors so I don't need the speakers but I never could figure out how to use em. All in all, this thing is just such a steal. Honestly, if there's a shadow of doubt in your head, toss it out. It's an incredible monitor.

Got this one on Prime Day. I didn't have any room to set it up where I was, and was planning on moving. Took me over a month to move, finally did, and hooked up the monitor. it's a HUGE size, even coming from a 27", still a huge step up in size. For a TV, small, but for gaming on a PC it's massive. But I love it. The curved screen is a little easy to lose your cursor at times, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. After running for a couple hours, a band of about 3" worth of lines appeared on screen, and wouldn't go away. Happened in both inputs and when there was nothing plugged into the monitor except power. And it was past the return date for Amazon so I had to deal with Samsung repair. Was an easy enough process, they even sent me a UPS return label to print to send it back 2nd day air. They did keep it over a week though, and I think they actually repaired the same monitor and sent it back. Wasn't a reconditioned unit off the shelf. At least it was the same box I sent it in. All works well, and I really wish it was brighter, I have it set to full brightness and almost full contrast, and there are still some darker/muddy area when watching movies or playing some games. I'm sure if I mess with more settings I can improve it some, but mostly ok. The response time is fine, the 2k resolution is awesome, and my poor lil rx 570 can push this many pixels just fine. A lot of games make it work really hard, and have had to turn some settings down. When playing in 1680x1050, I could have a lot of games on Ultra, and some in 1080. But popping the monitor on to it's full 2560x1440 it dropped frames to about 8-10. Had to go down a couple notches to Very High on most games to get playable again. Better video cards will handle better, but with prices the way they are, I'm happy with this for now.

This is a good monitor with good picture quality, it has two HDMI ports, the size is roughly 27 in which was bigger than my previous monitor that was 24 in. The curve display is pretty nice though nowadays it seems like a fad and not an actual performance thing. Though it's monitor does get warm mainly towards the bottom middle It's not really noticeable unless you touch the screen or super close to it, it is weird because I haven't had a monitor that gets as warm as this one does even while my room is roughly 65° f. Overall it's a pretty good mid-range monitor. It supports 144 Hz, HDR, curve display, low response time.

To start, I should say I got this monitor on sale for $294 dollars on the prime day sale and that is where I am basing my value of the Samsung G5 32" monitor. I saw many reviews as I went to purchase the G5 about ghosting and dead pixels and was pointed to much more expensive monitors that would not have this issue. While I can state that there is a little bit of ghosting, it is certainly not something you will ever notice in a game unless you are really trying to. In regards to dead pixels, I so far do not have any on either of the two monitors that I purchased. Now onto the curve. I was at first worried about the curve as I had only had flat screen monitors up until this point, and I can say I adjusted to the 1000R curve in a matter of minutes. It is noticeable when you are browsing the web, however, I have never received a headache from this. This is just my experience, however, I believe people who are used to curved monitors will have an even easier time adjusting to this. I have already noticed that games feel more immersive with this size monitor paired with the curve, but I do think this curve might be too much for the 27". At full price this monitor does have some competition that people should really look at before making their decision, which includes the big brother G7 Odyssey, I believe that the Samsung G5 Odyssey, with its full feature set of 144hz, 1ms response time, and 32" 1000r display will fit most people's realistic needs as very few games will ever run at 240 fps and with HDR being in its infancy that more expensive monitors offer.

Ok so I was lucky to own an RTX 3080 and I am using my monitor to play, watch videos, and do normal stuff. The picture quality is great! I see the 144hz and the 2k picture quality when watching movies! I have read reviews about the ghosting and my monitor has ZERO ghosting! The monitor is hdmi 2.0 which I am okay with and honestly it doesn’t really make a difference to me to switch to hdmi 2.1. If you are really stressing about having HDMI 2.1, then you should get a TV, not a monitor. I upgraded from a 1080p 60hz monitor and the curve was significant at FIRST but then I got used to the curve and it is hard to switch back to flat monitors. I’m going to buy the ps5 when it comes and this will be a great addition for it! People complain about the monitor having no speakers but why settle for less? I’m using the Harman Kardon Aura Studio 3 and it works better than any monitor speaker in monitor history. You can trust me on that. All in all, I have nothing else to say but it is an extremely great monitor to use. I got it on prime day when it was $300 and at the time I am writing this review, it went up to $1,350. Tbh, I would pay that price too if I was getting such a great monitor. For any gamers looking for a monitor that suits all of your needs and will be reliable, this monitor will be perfect for you. I will be using this for many years on!

I've been searching for a curved 32 inch gaming monitor for quite some time now, and until recently, most options were priced out of my range. In particular, the Samsung Odyssey G7 seemed like my ideal holy grail monitor, but at holy grail pricing. So when Samsung released a pared-down version in this G5 recently, I took notice. The G5 takes the essentials of the G7 and drops the extras. You lose the quantum dots with true HDR 600 support, 240hz, lose the adjustable stand, the RGB, and the extra USB ports. That sounds like a lot to sacrifice...but what you're left with is a gaming monitor that is reduced down to its essentials, for under half the price. You still get 1440p, a low response time especially for a VA panel,144hz--which still is more than enough for most people--and the 1000R curve in a 32 inch monitor. Reading some of the reviews about ghosting, I was a little apprehensive as I have personal experience with VA panel ghosting and know what to look for, but out of the box and with a little setup, that apprehension is unfounded. When the monitor is set to 144hz with Freesync enabled, there is, to my peception, essentially zero perceptible VA overshoot over on BlurBusters. The little UFO's are as crisp as I've seen on any other good 144hz panel. There's none of the dark overshoot typical of VA panels present. The panel behaves more or less like its more expensive brother did at 144hz, where it had zero ghosting, and then the tiniest bit at 240, indicating to me that 144hz is this technology's current sweet spot. If I had to suspect, the issues other reviewers encountered might have to do with disabling Freesync and setting the monitor's response rate to overdrive mode. I have yet to ever see a VA panel that DOESN'T ghost in their overdrive setting; even the mighty G7 and G9 suffer from it. It's best avoided. Overdrive is necessary to reach the advertised "1ms" response rate, and you get a drop to 2-3ms response times when you let the monitor manage itself, but that's still class-competitive and only perceptible to a professional-grade, hardcore gamer. And if you're one of those, why are you buying this panel? Setup was easy. My Nvidia drivers recognized the monitor's capabilities right out of the box, setting the correct resolution and refresh rate and automatically enabling Freesync. The on screen controls are very easy to use, and it has some helpful features like crosshair overlays that I probably won't be taking advantage of...but they're nice to have. If I have some criticisms about the monitor they would be that the stand does lack any real adjustability to it. You're left with just a bit of tilt, though you do have a VESA mount to install your own mounting solution. Also, while the HDR looks supririsingly good in my testing, the lack of full Freesync Premium Pro means you're left choosing between HDR -or- Freesync, rather than using both simultaneously. I didn't buy this monitor for its HDR, but it's something to note if that's a selling point to you. Finally, the elephant in the room: the curve. I personally like it quite a bit, but I come from a similarly-sized, less aggressively curved monitor, so I adjusted quickly. If you're coming from a flat panel, you may have issues with it. After while, I think most will come to appreciate the edges of the monitor being brought to the same distance from their eyes as the center in a monitor of this size. At the same time, I can understand it's a dealbreaker for some. In the end you're left with a gaming monitor that has everything you need but very, very little extras. If I could knock half a star off for the not-quite-realized HDR support and stand, I would, but balancing it with the $370 MSRP and the fact I scored it for $295 on Prime day, I can't in good faith pull a full star from my rating. Once a product is that far removed from flagship monitors in price, you can't reasonably expect a full flagship experience. But to get the essence of that experience at this price is, to me, closer to a 5 stars than anything.
