Buying renewed is always a bit of a risk and this monitor deal seemed to fall into the more sketchy category. Its a big, curved, quality, expensive monitor that is being sold for a nice discount. I felt the return policy gave me enough protection so I bought it (instead of some off-brand new monitor like SCEPTRE which should be called SKETCHRE). I'm delighted with this purchase. The monitor must have been returned after one use (if any). Original packaging was included, directions were present, and it looked like it hadn't been assembled. I couldn't tell if the box had been opened and re-sealed but there was slightly more styrofoam loose than usual. The monitor itself still had protective sheen on its sides. In reviews I usually ignore packaging and shipping comments but given its renewed those facets are important. The vendor did a great job with the packaging and shipping came a day early. The monitor itself is gorgeous, stable on the desk, and speakers are decent. It works seamlessly with my Mac (which recognizes it as an LG monitor, I was slightly paranoid this might be a faux-LG). Text is crisp (even with my slightly poor near vision) and eye-strain non-existent. Colors pop. I use it mainly for work and switch it over for games here/there. I haven't noticed any frame rate issues on my PS4 or NVIDIA GeForce Now account running off my personal Chromebook. The ginormous space of this monitor is great for design work or pulling open many windows for work "stuff". Sound, as I mentioned, is certainly good enough too on Zoom calls (or games during personal hours). I'm not sure where the vendor is making money off this... it is (or was if sold out) a great deal a perfect vendor experience (i.e. there were no issues). ... show more

to be fair, I'm upgrading from a 22.5 screen with external speakers that I have been limping along for several years. The only downside I've experienced after one day is the transformer, which is a big plug transformer (blocks several outlets). When will these manufacturers learn that those transformers do not play well in powerstrips which most people use in their workstations areas. Better design is to incorporate it into the screen or at the very least separate it from the plug. I had considered going dual screen, but never liked the idea of 2 screens, 2 cables and a split down the middle (or for that matter the cost of that setup). This screen is fabulous. I'm mainly a business user with videos but no gaming. I saw some reviews criticizing the brightness of the screen, but not an issue in my opinion. This screen is much brighter than my previous screen. Everything is crystal clear and bright. I especially love the built-in speakers and the built-in USB ports on the back for my webcam. I am consolidating and getting rid of a bunch of cables from my old setup. ... show more

I loved this monitor until I put it side to side with an Ipad. A LOT of quality is lost in dark scenes and video games. It looks beautiful if you don't compare it to anything, but once you do.... It's great for working on and for screen space, and for the price it's really good. But if you want to see any type of detail in movies or video games, it's not that good. Compare when watching a movie (dark, maybe scary) on this screen and an ipad and you'll see. ... show more

It's good. My only gripe is that the wide screen format means that the font's are very small and certain things now appear in odd places so it's taken some getting used to in order to locate pop ups on the screen.

I wanted to add a widescreen monitor to replace the laptop screen and external monitor I was currently using. I am amazed at the quality of this monitor, and well worth the price. It was “renewed” but appears to be unused, and arrived with the original packaging. I ordered it on a Sunday with a Thursday expected delivery. Instead of the 4 day delivery I expected, which as fine with me, it arrived Tuesday, 2 days early! Amazing. One thing to remember, you will need to download the Onscreen Display Control software from the LG website so you can take advantage of setting up areas of the screen for different applications. You can split the screen in to 2, 3, 4 or more separate “monitor windows” with the software. If your screen doesn’t go full screen with the Display Port cable switch to the HDMI. I had to do that when the DP would only drive 2/3 of the screen, but HDMI went full screen right away. I would buy again. ... show more
