Great VA Monitor! But don't buy if you're used to gaming on IPS.

So, bought this to add to my setup. I was using a 2560x1440P IPS Monitor. Added this due to the great deal and didn't really look into IPS vs VA. Oh my god I was suprised with the difference. VA: Provides deeper blacks, almost a true black. IPS: Better pixel rate, crisper and tighter display. YOU WILL NOTICE IT. VA also has an issue with "ghosting" the darker colors, you'll notice a slight blur or meshing when gaming at higher FPS. IPS has ZERO ghosting, it's so noticeable. TLDR: Get it if you're used to playing on VA monitors and appreciate the cheaper deal. Don't get if you're used to IPS monitors. I just set up a return for this for the IPS version of this same monitor, LG does good but it's my fault for not looking into this item deeply. Don't make the same mistake I did. ... show more

Great Monitor, Perfect for Productivity!

I absolutely love my LG UltraWide monitor! The clarity, color accuracy, and overall size make multitasking a breeze, and it’s been a game changer for productivity. This is good value - but not at all the "best" monitor.

I bought this for my home office, and for gaming. As a value - it is excellent. If you are shopping for image quality... well, it is not a leader for that. The backlight is uneven, the color gamut doesn't quite match the marketing. It makes up for that by being fast. I generally drive it at 85 fps over HDMI, but I have tested it at 160Hz on Displayport ... it works. If you are a gamer, that matters. For office work, I use the width - I often compare two Word documents with comments - and this comfortably shows two full pages side by side in that arrangement. I also do video editing color correction and compositing - it is great for a timeline or a node tree. The actual working area for the interface and controls. However ... the color on this monitor is ... yeah ... Nope. If you are thinking of using this for photo editing or any other color critical work, you are self sabotaging. If this is the form factor you want, consider the Samsung Odyssey G8. That said - I would not buy an ultrawide for picture work. Instead use a second display. I use a calibrated video monitor for color work over a dedicated broadcast video interface. On a Mac you can also output to an iPad Pro as a calibrated external monitor. There is a wide gamut of arrangements where you can use this monitor to work, and use another for judging color. ... show more

Gaming first but all around good performer

I have been using this monitor for quite some time now, and despite its age, I can't help but sing its praises. As someone who usually invests in mid to high-end professional monitors with a focus on color accuracy, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this monitor, which I purchased specifically for gaming, has proved to be a valuable tool for my professional workflows as well. The ultra-wide aspect ratio and higher resolution than what I typically use has greatly improved the way I approach tasks such as software and web development. However, it's important to note that the color accuracy of this monitor may not be suitable for final production work. While you can still touch up a few photos or work on your website using it, it's advisable to perform color correction and other tasks that require more care and accuracy on a different display. Setting reasonable expectations within the price segment that this monitor caters to, there is no reason not to be thrilled with its performance. At its core, this monitor is designed for gaming, and in that regard, it excels. The high refresh rate with freesync, paired with my 3080 has provided an amazing gaming experience. Perhaps it would have been nice if LG had included more on-screen display (OSD) features, but considering the price, it's understandable that they reserved those for the more premium market segment. Nonetheless, the monitor still offers essential controls for adjusting the picture, and it even has a built-in crosshair if find you need it. If you can find this monitor at a reasonable price, it's definitely a great option worth considering. However, nothing beats going to a physical store and seeing the panels in person to find the one that suits your preferences. If you choose to go that route, take a moment to switch the display model out of the ‘floor’ mode, as it isn’t uncommon for stores to enable the settings that oversaturate colors and try to appeal more to the mass market. In your home environment, you probably won't choose that setting, and it could result in a significantly different look and feel to the display and the motion rendering it uses. ... show more

Good value - very nice for office use

These are really popular with the staff who use them for office work, including reading and comparing data on large spreadsheets and having many windows open at once. They are bright - a driving reason for my first purchase of this monitor - wide, easy to set-up, and ergonomically helpful (provided that the user is sitting at the ideal distance from the screen.) Curved screens like these are ideal for use by one user at a time. If you'll need to show your screen to others - to review items or work together - you'll want to stick with a flat screen. I chose this product for the good value it offered relative to other curved screens with similar size and quality. I also appreciate that this screen did not have any bright lights on the backside, or similar design features, that are intended to make a screen appeal to gamers. Still good after about a year

Bought Nov 2024 , it's Nov 2025. Still good, no dead pixel. Works great when working on multiple windows or multiple apps. I'm not an expert but color looks nice. Considering it's size, it is very stable on my desk.
