First Impressions After waiting for the perfect monitor for over 5 years, the LG 45GX950A has exceeded all expectations. It’s not just a monitor—it’s a full-on experience. This 45” OLED monitor is in a class of its own and is a huge upgrade that was well worth the wait. It's large and immersive enough to double as a TV. Performance & Display Quality Playing games on an OLED panel at 165Hz with this resolution is unprecedented. Text is razor-sharp and extremely legible at 125 PPI. The tiny pixels make individual RGB subpixels invisible even under a magnifying glass. The default brightness is set at 100%, which can be harsh on the eyes, but reducing it to 50% creates a comfortable and rich viewing experience. Design & Build The matte finish is an excellent choice, minimizing reflections during daytime use or nighttime movie viewing. Unlike glossy screens with aggressive curves that can reflect the room or even distort the monitor’s own image, the matte surface eliminates internal glare and reflection, which can be problematic on an 800R curve. The monitor also features a stylish, hexagonal customizable LED backlight, and the black rear cover helps minimize ambient light scatter, unlike white back panels. Features & Functionality A key improvement over my old LG monitor is the convenience factor. The 45GX950A auto-switches to the active input source—a welcome change from having to switch manually. Also, DisplayPort now carries audio to the internal speakers, which are surprisingly loud and adequate for everyday use. Gaming Experience The 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio is perfect for cinematic content and immersive gameplay. With a 0.03 ms response time and support for up to 165Hz (330Hz with overclocking), this monitor is lightning-fast. The wider field of view is especially ideal for racing sims, flight sims, and open-world titles. If you've never gamed on an OLED display, the difference in black depth and contrast will feel almost surreal. Power Efficiency Despite its size and capabilities, the monitor uses only 35 watts for non-gaming activity and 40 watts during gaming when HDR brightness is at 50%. That’s incredibly efficient and allows it to run cool even during extended use. Pros: 1. You will feel very giddy at first – in a good way. The curve feels dramatic but quickly becomes natural and immersive. 2. Blazing speed: 165Hz/330Hz refresh and 0.03 ms response time. 3. Convenience: Auto input switching and DisplayPort audio. 4. Cinematic ultrawide 21:9 ratio with a vertical 2160 resolution. 5. Immersive and ideal for games and movies with deeper blacks. 6. Low power usage and high efficiency. 7. Matte finish eliminates distracting reflections. 8. Customizable backlight with functional design choices like the black rear panel. Cons: 1. A faint white vertical bar appeared at first, but OLED Image Cleaning resolved it quickly. 2. On the pricey side, though the feature set justifies the cost. 3. Your GPU or CPU may need upgrading to handle the full 5K2K resolution. 4. For uncompressed DisplayPort 2.0/2.1 support, you’ll need an RTX 5000 or RX 7000 series card.     • The Most Immersive Monitor I've Ever Owned!

A simply outstanding monitor! I've used a 16:9 monitor my whole life, and finally decided to pull the trigger on an OLED ultrawide 21:9. I have two LG OLED TV's in my home and knew LG was the way to go when it comes to OLED. I was coming from a 32" 16:9 monitor and originally purchased the 34" older version of this monitor. I found that when using it on my PC, which is capable of 21:9, it was great, but when switching to my PS5, which uses a 16:9 aspect ratio, the screen basically became a 27" monitor and I found myself squinting at the screen. IN COMES THIS 39" MONITOR! It's exactly what I wanted it to be! At the full 21:9 aspect ratio it envelopes you into a new level of immersion! And at the 16:9 aspect ratio it feels exactly like my old 32" monitor! The best part is that because it's OLED the black bars on the side are completely black; no grey glow like other ultrawide monitors! Speaking of OLED the contrast is phenomenal, and the colors are so vibrant! LG OLED TVs have ruined me when watching or playing on any other screen, so this OLED monitor has been such a nice addition to my arsenal of screens! At $1099 (on sale) this is a fantastic value for the money! The monitor is basically a TV with the addition of WebOS. If you're familiar with LG's OLED TV's, it functions exactly the same. It auto recognizes the inputs and either asks you if you'd like to switch, or switches automatically when in standby mode. When using this with a PS5, be sure to turn off VRR inside the PS5 settings or the monitor will cut in and out. (This might only apply to my setup as I run my PS5's HDMI out through an audio extractor). I absolutely love this monitor, and I can't wait to game for hours and hours and feel completely immersed!     • I got a good one but this model has widespread panel issues

I ordered two of these. One came with panel problems so I returned it. Easy return as usual. The remaining monitor is great, one of the best monitors I have ever had. Bright, large, crisp display with no bad pixels. Previously I had ordered 2 from LG for overnight delivery. One was canceled without telling me because of stock issues. The other came a week later though I ordered it overnight. I needed it promptly. Hence the Amazon order. I scheduled a 15 day guarantee return for the late LG order but a week later am still waiting for a return label. I strongly recommend that you do NOT order from the LG web site. LG support is terrible. There can occasionally be problems with some Amazon purchases but I have never had significant problems with their return policy. Stick with Amazon or a local vendor. When the delayed LG order arrived it also had panel problems. This is a great monitor though panel quality is hit or miss. ... show more

Color and brightness are wonderful but that’s about where the fun stops. The text is so incredibly fuzzy and all black objects have a slight yellow halo line. Additionally had a faulty USB-C port on delivery. Have to return it.

Monitor display is very nice! Very expensive but it's the best looking a clearest gaming monitor yet. Unfortunately got a dead pixel right in the center of the display so I've had to return it. I'll be ordering another one once I get a refund.
