On one bed I use it over a comforter for a family member that likes lots of warmth. On another bed, I use it with just a top sheet for a family member that likes a more lightweight warmth. There is a bit of a sheen to the velvet. The stitching lends a quality appearance to the quilt. I bought the taupe and moss green colors. Both are beautiful and perfect for the room that they are being used. One quilt is used on a full sized bed and the other is on a queen sized bed & they both fit perfectly. I didn't even pay attention that this was velvet. Just needed an olive green quilt. Pleasantly surprised when it arrived! Quite gorgeous and olive is a rich deep olive color as shown in photos. Just wished they had a California king or oversized option.

Love!!! Took right out of box and placed on our King bed. There is no smell, Soft, lightweight. Absolutely perfect and machine washable. We live in TX and will be a perfect weight for warmth. Was worried on quality due to the great price, so worth it!!! The fit, needed longer on the sides, so I switched it around. There were so many beautiful colors, we went with the Mushroom Brown. I’m so happy!!!

I have 5 of these blankets in different colors and stitch style. All of my kids love them and I am obsessed with them. The quality is great. They're SO SOFT and luxurious. I can't explain it but they have a weight to them but not too hot. Definitely try it. I bought a cheaper version for my son and the quality is noticeably different. I love this evergrace brand.
