  • Great monitor at a fair price
Not sure why anyone would return this, thus making it a "refurb". Maybe because it's a flat-screen. I love it. Mounting to the stand was super easy. Clipped on with no tools. Very solid. The height adjustment is very smooth......just pull up or push down and the monitor stays put. The "AMD Adrenalin" software allows ultimate adjustability of color and brightness, which takes a little practice to get right. I put a link to it on my taskbar for quick access, because, like I said, some practice is required. At first I went way too bright, then pushed the colors to levels not seen in nature, but finally got everything perfect. Combined with my new Ryzen 7 5800U mini, it provides beautiful images at a fair price. I'm very happy this display. ... show more

  • Beautiful mid level monitor at entry level price
This is a beautiful monitor - statement piece with LG UG colors and logo. Sharp and vibrant picture, fast response, great resolution (don’t need 4k for gaming). And while I always buy new, the renewed price for “excellent” was 50% off list price so decided to take the plunge. The monitor was carefully packed in original box, though the adapter was put in a bit sloppily. I inspected carefully 360 degrees and could not find any cosmetic blemishes - not even a scratch - so Amazon was serious about the “like new” / excellent designation. Ultimately I ended up returning the monitor because the color saturation was too high and could not be adjusted down, some backlight bleed on dark images, and the lack of input ports was too constraining (I wanted to add Roku, etc.). I also reread other reviews of monitors that died outside the 90 day return window and decided to pay up for an upgraded (and new) monitor to get a fresh warranty. ... show more

  • The best for the budget. Hands down.
If these are the specs you're looking for, go for it. You will be happy with it (if it comes in as good as condition as mine, which I couldn't find any defects on.) BUT. The HDR is kinda bad. Its an "HDR Effect", not true HDR. I've seen some complaints about ghosting. Yes, if you want the deepest richest blacks on the planet, this monitor can achieve it, but it will ghost. If you mess with the settings a bit, the ghosting effect is minimized to the point where I don't notice it on UFOtest. I play CS Bhop a good amount and when I first got the monitor, everything had a black trail behind it whenever I was moving too fast and it felt worse to play on than the 60hz 15yo LED TV I was using before lol. Here are the settings I set to mitigate the effect. First, I use Game Mode 2 because it uses the "Faster" response time. In "Game Adjust" 1ms Blur Reduction and Adaptive Sync are set to OFF. Set the Black Stabilizer to 60. In "Picture Adjust", my settings are: Brightness 100 Contrast 70 Sharpness 70 Gamma Mode 2 Color Temp Medium DFC OFF. Might just be my opinion, but it looks FANTASTIC and doesn't have the ghosting issue. ... show more

  • Good for the Price
I am running this next to a 27" IPS 1440p monitor. Refurbished Thoughts... First off, the refurbished nature of the product. There is a built in runtime that you can access from the menu to verify how much usage there has been with your particular unit. Mine came with about 160 hours on it and it still looked brand new. It is a VA panel so you do not have to worry about burn-in or anything like that. Overall for the $200 I paid it will be hard to beat this. Picture Quality Out of the box the image quality is pretty bad. The contrast is off, the overall color accuracy is terrible, and in general it just doesn't look great. Granted, I am running this next to a colorimeter calibrated IPS monitor. I think the image quality would be acceptable out of the box if this were running standalone. Using my i1 Display Pro I calibrated the monitor and now the color is almost indistinguishable from the IPS panel it is next to. I highly recommend calibrating this monitor. It is brighter and clearer than the HDR mode when calibrated. VA Panel? Re: Common issues mentioned There are mentions of a "shadow" or "3d effect" around the panel's edges. This is NOT specific to this monitor. My IPS has the same effect. If you look at the edge of the monitor from an acute angle you will see a black edge run along the side of the screen. From normal viewing this is not visible. Ghosting Now the big one. Ghosting. Yes, this VA panel suffers from ghosting with blacks in particular. However, I don't notice it unless I am looking for it. This is really a situation where you have to see it to decide. I can jump back and forth between my IPS and VA and see the difference. I ran the UFO ghosting test next to my IPS to see the difference. It is quite obvious. There is an option to turn on 1ms blur reduction but that doesn't do much from what I could tell. It darkens the screen and also requires you to disable variable refresh rate. The ghosting looks like a black shadow trailing an object. I have attached a couple images that give you an idea compared to my IPS panel. When it comes down to the it the price is great. It is a large monitor and the text isn't as sharp, but I knew that going into this. If you want a large monitor that can handle some gaming then give this a shot. The price is right. If you can shell out $150 more then go with a 4k native. ... show more

  • It's a refurbished PC monitor with some decent specs!
I bought a new monitor just like this with my new PC and I still wanted a new one for my old PC because I was still using it. However, I knew I wanted one the same size as the new one which is 32". I didn't want to have to shell out another almost $500 for it though. When I saw this refurbished one, the same as the new one I bought for a decent price I took the chance. At first, I was like hmmmm. Do I want one that has already had problems? So to ease my mind I got the 3 yr. Asurion warranty. The monitor arrived quickly and looked like new. It's worked flawlessly ever since I plugged it in! ... show more
