The reason I got this particular monitor is because I'd purchased it's smaller, older sibling, the LG 29UM-68-P, and been extremely happy with it. It's basically the 2016 29-inch version of this monitor. Both are incredibly bright and crystal clear, and I've never had a complaint about the 29" model. This one happens to be even cheaper (even at that time of this writing, $368 vs $299), so I thought, why not? For the most part, I'm pleased with it, though color accuracy leaves something to be desired. Not only can I now see that the 29" model has a slight red cast, I'm left with a slight green cast on the 34" (hard to see in the photo, but it's there). I've fiddled with settings but never been able to get either of them to match or get one or the other closer to pure white. I have half a mind to get a colorimeter because frankly it drives me a little nuts. Also, either because of the sheer size or because people complained, the VESA mount doesn't partially block the video connections (looking at you, 29) - everything is easily accessible. If this will be your *sole monitor* then I couldn't recommend it enough. If this will add to an existing monitor you might want to look elsewhere, or be prepared to spend time fidgeting with controls to get it to look right. Still, all that being said, I do love it, and if the news that NVIDIA will be adding Freesync compatibility in an upcoming driver release is true, I'll be even happier when gaming with it! Edit 1/15/19: The Freesync compatible NVIDIA driver released today and while it's not one of the approved monitors it does appear to be working without any issues. I also bought a colorimeter but have yet to have any luck with it. Also, wanted to add that the joystick control is probably the easiest of any monitor control out there. Push away from you for up, towards you for done up to enter/select. I don't have to try and remember how to use it - it's that intuitive. ... show more

    • Very, Very Good For The Price
So I shopped around quite a bit before landing on this wide screen. In my price range I finally decided that LG was the best fit but then I was amazed at how many different models there were just in the 34" size! The reason I chose this one? There were certain features I thought were critical in choosing an entry level wide screen monitor: 1) Size, 34" seems to be the sweet spot. Not sure why someone would buy a 29" widescreen. Seems like a waste for what you'd get. 34" on the other hand provides a pretty amazing viewing experience. 2) The Display Port connection. The monitor for my other computer is a 27" 4K with a Display Port and it does make a huge difference. Using HDMI you can't get the 60mghz needed to obtain the kind of picture you'd want with this widescreen experience. 3) The price was certainly right! The higher end wide screens with 144ghz rates are just too expensive. At $300, this particular LG model is a fantastic value IMHO. 4) Yes this model does force you to give up having an adjustable stand but I've rarely used the adjustment with my previous monitors so I don't really miss it here. 5) Easy setup with the ability to customize. This unit was easy to setup and adjust for all of my games. It is a terrific gaming monitor for casual gamers like myself. I do wish the power / setup button was in a different place, but I'm used to it now. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with this monitor. I'm very happy with my purchase. And the delivery was right on time with the unit was received in perfect unopened condition, exactly as described. So unless you want a top of the line monitor for some big time gaming or video work and have upwards of $1,000 to spend , I think this would be a really good choice. ... show more

The monitor arrived with a dead pixel which is very annoying. It had to be a black pixel too in the top middle of the screen. I had the old version of this monitor for 5 years and it never gave me any trouble until lightning blew it up.
