  • Nice UI, lots of ports
Style: New version
At this price point, this is one of the best 4k 27" monitors on the market. The brightness and picture quality are solid. The refresh rate is fine for basic gaming and easy on the eyes. The sound is surprisingly good for a built-in. LG nailed it with the single 5-way button user interface: left & right for volume. Push for full menu. It's intuitive and you don't have to fish around finding the right button (there's only one!) I have three of these at the community space and they're solid dependable workhorses. The abundance of ports means I can have several systems hooked up to a monitor without a lot of fuss. Very pleased with these. ... show more

  • A happy accident
Style: New version
I accidentally knocked over my older LG monitor, had to quickly order a new one from Amazon which arrived w/in 2 days. I love this one. it is far more stable esp around accident-prone ppl like myself. The picture is crisp. the entire assembly took minutes to put together. effortless install. sooooo happy for my clumsiness this time around. :) Can't be more pleased w/Amazon and LG! ... show more

  • Much cheaper and only marginally less picture quality than it’s flagship uncle.
Style: New version
I have two LG 27MD5KL-B 27 units which I love. Today it lists for ~$1,500, I paid $1,200 last year. This monitor, the 27UP850K, also from LG and the same size, is not quite as bright as the other ones, and the contrast is slightly less clear for text, but I payed only $270 a month ago; it now lists for $363. (All prices quoted from Amazon.) It has only one USB-C port whereas its more expensive uncle has 4. I’m using it’s HDMI port which works fine. This monitor performs admirably for a second monitor on my iMac. I’m glad I didn’t pay > four times more $ for the objectively better, so-called ‘Mac compatible’ 27MD5KL. ... show more

  • Beautiful color range, sharp images.
Style: New version
I vowed never to purchase another LG products again about 12 years ago after my expensive LG TV monitor began dropping reflector lens one day after the warranty ended. LG could care less and their response was too bad, so sad. (LGs product obsolescence). I needed to replace my computer monitor after 8 years and Amazon had a great price on this LG monitor. I did not want to purchase another LG product after my horrible experience with them in the past but I needed to replace my existing one quickly. LG continues, in my experience, to remain the leader when it comes to color details and expanse in their monitors and it does not disappoint. I absolutely love this monitor for those reasons and it makes my imagery use a joy. I am happy with the purchase but I am counting the days down to one year to see if this items dies after one years use like my last LG purchase. ... show more

  • Works Well With Linux
Style: New version
Moving from a vintage 2012 23" IPS monitor to a modern 27" 4K display has made a world of difference. I couldn’t be happier with the screen quality and presentation. Since many reviews already cover video performance, I’ll focus on my specific use case: running Ubuntu Linux 24.04 on a System76 Meerkat. Right away, I encountered an issue that I initially misunderstood. When using Fractional Scaling, my mouse became laggy, jerky, and completely unusable. I mistakenly assumed this was a CPU capacity problem, but that diagnosis was entirely wrong. The real cause of my lagging mouse was my old keyboard/mouse combo, which relied on a USB dongle. It seems that this setup couldn’t keep up with the increased pixel content. After switching to a Logitech Pebble Mouse 2 M350s, the lag disappeared completely. One tradeoff I faced was with the monitor stand. To use the included stand, I had to give up mounting my computer on the back of the monitor. However, I found a great alternative: the ElecGear iNUC-K Vertical Stand, which turned out to be even better than expected. Now, my USB ports are more accessible. An unexpected bonus is the sturdiness of the included stand—it’s impressively stable! ... show more

  • Great IPS 4K Monitor - LG rocks
Style: New version
Great quality monitor. I plan to buy a 2nd one of the same model. I use this with my Macbook Air and it is great quality. I mostly use it for work and media streaming, so I have no complaints. This is also my first IPS monitor and I am happy to have given IPS technology a try.

Ads come on at full volume. I bought a very similar model. After sitting on the main menu for a while, ads will start play at full volume.
