Description

The Lezyne Sport Drive HP Hand Pump is a compact pump and an awesome value. The machined aluminum barrel hides the Flex Hose, a short rubber hose that extends from the main body of the pump and attaches to either Schrader or Presta valves, making it much less awkward to pump your tires on the side of the road or trail. The high-grade plastic Composite Matrix and polished alloy construction mean the pump looks good and feels good, and will last a long time. The Sport Drive HP's Flex Hose doesn't have the ABS (Air Bleed System) that allows you to precisely deflate without unthreading the hose, as found on the more expensive standard Drive HP pump, but for this price, it's very hard to beat. The pump also includes lightweight composite matrix frame mount.

  • Practical, light, small profile, effective
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
there's a little more work involved with screwing on the hose and all, but it's so much easier to pump with a flexible hose that screws on than one of those pumps with the levers that always seems to leak air, and I never worry about putting undue force on the tube valve. This thing is also feels much smaller and less bulky. I just tie it to the outside of my saddle bag. ... show more

  • A very small package that packs a huge punch
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
Most cyclists like me, have always defaulted to Co2 for flats because pumps are often either huge, or small and essentially useless for any manner of practical use. This pump is very close to the Holy Grail of on bike pumps: it's tiny and it can handle pumping tires over 100 PSI, without leaving you exhausted. This pump is a winner. Here are my thoughts in more depth: 1. It's obscenely small. As you can see in my photos, it's barely the length of a bottle cage when mounted to a bike. In fact, if you really want to avoid cluttering up your bike for fashion purposes, this will easily fit in the middle pocket of any jersey. 2. The flexible screw on hose does make pumping easier. 3. There is absolutely no need for a bleeder valve, just simply slowly loosen the part of the hose screwed into the pump until the additional air comes out, then unscrew the hose from your inner tube valve. 4. Yes, expect to engage the pump 150 or so times to get your tire to 110-120 PSI, but only the last 15 or so pumps are going to be at all difficult. What I do is pump in 25 pump increments. Either way, this is what you're looking at for various tires, sizes and PSI: Continental GP 4000 23mm/100 PSI= 153 pumps 23mm/110 PSI= 183 pumps 23mm/120 PSI= 213 pumps and a somewhat tired forearm 25mm/100 PSI/110PSI/120PSI= add approximately 10-12 pumps per above number I also ran this on a Vittoria Pro G Plus in 25mm, Vittoria Corsa Control G Plus in 25mm, and Zipp Tangente Speed in 23mm with very similar results to the above numbers. With that said, in the vast majority of cases, riders rarely need to run their tires at max PSI. Unless you are 230+, you can easily get away with between 95-105 up front and 105-115 out back. In fact, anyone under 230 really should always run their front tires at no more than 100 PSI and back at no more than 115, anyway, and that's especially the case if you're running 25mm or even more so, 28mm. The typical exception to that tends to be nearly anything sold by Vredestein, which tend to have weak sidewalls and recommended max pressures of 145-175, which is absurd, but that's a story for another time. I'm rambling here, but here's the bottom line: This pump is tiny and capable pumping road tires up to spec to safely continue rides, not just as a pump to limp home with. Yes, you're going to spend a bit more time getting tires to pressure than a Co2 pump, but you're also not going to waste as much money. Oh and 2 cartridges and an inflation device is going to run around 130-140 grams, this pump is 105 grams; I rest my case. ... show more

  • Good Emergency Pump
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
This is a good emergency pump. Pros: 1) Small and lightweight 2) Solidly made, quality is good 3) Flexible tube connector 4) Bike mount for pump works good. Just make sure the pump is positioned correctly in the mount. Cons: 1) Since it is so small, the length of each pump is limited so it takes a long time to fill up a high pressure road bike tire, and it is hard to get it up to the pressure you would want in a road bike tire. That is kind of a given for these small pumps, though. I use this as an emergency pump to put a little air in the tube so I can get it mounted in the wheel. I carry a CO2, which will fill the tire up to the road bike tire pressure. It can be used by itself, but it will take many, many pumps to get enough pressure in the tire, and that will take considerable effort. Overall, it works for me and the small size and weight are worth it. ... show more

  • Not just the best mini-pump for the price.
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
I almost cried when I took a bad fall and a car ran over my pump. Then I remembered it only cost $20 and I could replace it easily! I could afford any pump, but this one is the one. Its just the right size. It really can get to120psi. It’s easy to use, weighs less than a C02 cartridge and it’s pumphead, and provides an infinite supply of air. It fits in a large jersey pocket. I tried the smaller one but it’s too hard to get to pressure. I tried all aluminum ones and they dent. In the end the cheapest is the best! The pump head screws on, so it works best with fixed valve cores or you can tighten yours down. I’ve also used it with removable valve extenders, works fine with just a little care. It can use presta or Schroeder. ... show more

  • Good pump, just don't tighten it too much on prest valves
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
It's small, reliable, and most importantly to me, has replacement parts available. It does have the tendency to mangle your presta valve stems if you tighten the tube on there too hard, so watch out for that. But it's good enough that when I lost my last one on the trail, I just went and bought another. ... show more

  • Very Decent for the cost.
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
I used it half a dozen times At home as a test- Decent pump, comes with bottle cage mount which is very nice to mount it out of the way and out of your pocket. In comparison to a road pressure drive(all alloy, 50 bucks) that I have on other bike it’s basically same weight and dimensions, it does seem to push A little less air per stroke but works just as good to get enough pressure to get you home. Feels a little more “plastic-y” And less solid when pumping, like you could accidentally rip it in half at that point when we turn into a gorilla halfway through the pumping process but going easy it has not failed me. One tip- to remove after pumping crack the hose at pump side first before the tire side to relieve pressure and prevent all your hard earned air from leaking out. ... show more

  • Love this pump and HIGHLY recommend it!
Size: 170mm long Color: Black
I love this little pump! I have it strapped to my SC Blur and take it on every ride with me. The ability to pump both Presta and Schrader is a bonus but the real benefits are a) the flexible hose makes it SO easy to use without putting undue pressure on your stem, and b) the diameter of the pump’s piston means it moves quite a bit of air with each stroke, especially for such a small pump. One thing: if you’re using it with Presta’s make sure the actual valve is screwed into the stem tightly and secure because if the valve is lose the pump end can unscrew the valve when you attempt to disconnect it from the valve. Don’t know if that makes sense, so just make sure your valves are tight in the stems and you’ll have no issues. ... show more
