Fun experiment for Women

Prices of jeans in the raw can really run some bucks, and 99% are made for men anyway. I am a CoH Womens size 31 or 32 and I tried the 35x30. In the end they came out pretty darn close to the Charlotte cut in form. I washed them in cold water to get the "factory out" right away. I did find a metal rack around the house that was the waist size I wanted( I got this idea from a blogger that went with "stretch to fit"). Indeed even going up from my initial 34 waist order, the 35's were not 2 inches too big at the waist(more like 1") but everything else was huge so I took the chance on working with them. So after washing, while still wet I inserted the metal oven rack which was now very tight. Even in COLD water these will start their transformation, so beware. Everything else fit to a T after hang drying to damp. Now it's a little "stretch" to fit on the waistband. I am surprised for a mens sized jean the waist is a bit "pinched", but I won't have any gaps in the back! Now,I have a pair of cropped straight leg (black) jeans that fit pretty great as long as I don't wash them carelessly. So watch the waist size and beware even cold water will tighten them up. ... show more

I bought 2 pairs of 501 STF black 33x36. These are the first shrink-to-fit 501's I've bought since I was a kid, so wasn't sure what to expect. I haven't worn them yet; only briefly tried them on before and after the first wash. My plan is to wash them 2 or 3 times before wearing. Washing - I marked one pair by trimming corners off the label; those will be my dress jeans that I will always wash inside out - and hope to rarely (if ever) have to wash them. The other pair I will wear several times a week and expect to have to wash them a lot (and I won't turn them inside out to wash as I want the washed look on these). I ride horses daily and they'll get filled with dirt and sweat quickly. It will be interesting to see how the wear compares over the years. Size - I normally wear 32x32 (non STF), which fit on me a bit short and a bit tight. So I ordered 33x36 as per the Levis guidelines. I tried them on un-washed, and indeed they were large on the waist and very long. I washed them in warm water, heavy-duty wash with regular soil settings on my washer, and then dried on hot. Tried them on again and they had shrunk a LOT. Pretty much perfect; hope they don't shrink much more. I am washing them the second time now; not sure if I'll do a 3rd. Color - A nice dark black, I like it, although it isn't a super deep pitch black...at some angles it almost looks a deep dark dark blue. It has a slight washed look even before the first wash (I can see light/white threads, which I like). Material - Softer than I expected even before washing; I like it although based on some of the reviews I was expecting them to be heavier and stiffer. Sizing depends on how you wash them

These are my new favorite jeans. I own a pair of 505’s and 501’s already, but these fit and look amazing. There are detailed instructions on how to wash and dry them on the Levi’s website. I chose the size I normally purchase and they shrunk up an inch in the waist and length, washing them separately in cold water and drying them on a low setting. I’m 5’9” and 175 lbs with an athletic build. The 36x30 worked out great for me as I probably need a 35” waist and I prefer the length to be on the cusp of high water, since I wear them with boots. The black waterless color style is slightly rigid and has a bit of a speckled appearance, not a solid black like my stretch 501’s. Shrink to fit jeans are definitely going to be the new norm for my denim wardrobe. ... show more

The pants shrank by a lot when I washed them. I bought two pairs, one blue and one black… the black shrinked to at less one size smaller after washing. Therefore I lost the pair since it doesn’t fit me anymore.

Not great but not terrible.

Honestly for the price I was expecting better quality. These are the thinnest, stiffest jeans I have owned. The stitch work is poor and overall quality is lacking. Definitely not the old school reliable Levi’s I remember. On the positive side they do look pretty sleek and nice in person. No telling how long they will hold up though. Overall they are ok but doubt I will order again. ... show more
