  • One of the best bassy all arounder at the price point
I've had the Letshuoer Astralis for a little while now, and it's quickly become one of my favorite sets in my rotation. It's one of those IEMs that doesn't try to wow you with an overly bright or analytical tuning. Instead, it focuses on making music sound engaging and fun, which is exactly what I was looking for. The bass was what sold me first. It digs deep with plenty of sub bass presence, but it's controlled and textured instead of bloated. Whether I'm listening to Edm, rock, hiphop, or even orchestral tracks, the low end has enough authority to make the music feel alive without stepping on the mids. The mids have a nice natural warmth that gives vocals and instruments good body. Male vocals sound especially rich, while female vocals are smooth and easy to listen to. The treble has enough detail to keep things interesting but never crosses into harsh or fatiguing territory, even during longer listening sessions. I did end up swapping the stock tips for the HE Chang He Yin Galaxy Edition wide bore tips, and for my ears that was the sweet spot. They brought out a little more detail, added some extra air, and pushed the vocals and treble just slightly more forward without changing the overall character of the Astralis. It still sounds warm and musical, just a bit more open and balanced. Build quality is excellent. The shells feel premium, the fit is comfortable for me, and the stock cable is honestly better than what many companies include at this price. I never felt the need to replace it. Is it perfect? No. If your preference is an ultra neutral or highly analytical presentation, there are probably better options. But if you want an IEM that's easy to listen to, has satisfying bass, smooth mids, and a non fatiguing treble while still offering solid technical performance, I think the Astralis is an excellent choice. Overall, I'm really impressed with what Letshuoer did here. Every time I pick it up, I end up listening longer than I planned. For me, that's the best indication that an IEM got the tuning right. ... show more

  • Exceptional sound quality without spending thousands
I've listened to many high-end speaker setups that cost thousands of dollars, and I've also used mainstream bluetooth headphones like Sony XM4, AirPods Pros/Max, Bose QC Ultra 2 etc. So I have a wide range of experience in listening to different levels of audiophile audio, and let me tell you, these sound good... The best thing about these (and IEMs in general), is that I can plug them into my iPhone, and play high-res lossless music on Apple Music and experience exceptional level quality on the go or at work or pretty much anywhere. These sound warm, have good bass/subbass, and are very "musical", like they make you move and you just really enjoy listening to music with these on. (Quick note about quality: Great quality, they feel very sturdy and the cables are a good length and overall these feel very well made). These were actually a replacement for Bose QC Ultra 2 that I got to listen to music at work, but I always felt like something was missing and could never really enjoy the music, so I returned those and got these IEMs for $250 less and they sound 5x better than the Bose. If you have a trained ear you will definitely be able to tell. This is my first real set of IEMs. I also tried the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X which were good but these are better. Unfortunately, I havent gotten the chance to listen to many other IEMs or other audiophile headphones so I can't give the best review (hopefully other folks here can), but I will say, regardless of how trained your ear is or if you are an audiophile or not, you will love these. I get chills listening to these sometimes just because of how good the audio is, instruments sound real and like they're at home and it's just a wonderful experience. Summary: If you did not read much of my review above, please read this: I brought these to someone who has a $10k audiophile speaker setup and we both compared these together. And the fact that these $200 IEMs held their own against a ten thousand dollar audiophile speaker setup really says something. So given the price and how expensive audiophile setups can be, these are genuinely amazing. ... show more

  • Very good sound!
I'm really impressed with the sound quality and build. Very happy with my first IEM purchase. This was after burying a lot expensive version. Very happy with it!

  • Amazing without breaking the bank
Greatly exceeded my expectations for the price. Amazing sound quality and build quality.

  • Engaging, but a Bit Bass Heavy.
Good, but not particularly balanced - bass is a bit heavy and at times seems to drown out some higher end details. Build quality is good, included wire is high quality, but if you are seeking clear, technical audio reproduction, there are likely better alternatives.

  • My Favorite Letshuoer Planar
I think this is Letshuoer's best planar. I've been an enjoyer of planars for a while: the S12 / S12 Pro, the original Timeless (was underwhelmed by the Timeless II), appreciated the MP145, tried the Simgot ET142, and impressed with the S12 Ultra and S08. Yes, the S08 was my favorite. The Astralis is like an older sister, a bit more matured and refined, but with a little edginess to it. It's not a direct upgrade, as you're trading off that safe, fatigue free sound for something more incisive. The bass is much improved with more definition, and there are only hints of planar timbre at the trailing edge of higher harmonics. There's a naturalness to the music when you listen. Not realism (this is a 15mm planar after all, you just can't get that depth unless you're on a really good speaker setup) but everything sounds in its place. I think if you're looking for the best out there right now, it's either this or Letshuoer's own S15. The S15 offering more clarity and balance, sounding a bit more resolute at the expense of warmth. My only complaint is the dongle that comes with it. It's very fashionable and matches the IEM, but on Android it prevents me from using my microphone, so it's essentially useless to me. If you know you like planars and can catch this with Letshuoer's 20% off, it's an easy recc. ... show more

  • It’s good enough for every day’s listening
The planar diaphragm driver produce soft and silky high, compare to my other 1DD+4BA Fiio earphones the 15.5mm earphones is good for long hours listening, the bass is very clean and tight, I like the sound performance & presentation. It justify the $160 price

  • Best planar for rock and metal!
Definitely the best planar for listening to metal and longer louder listening sessions. You don’t lose the planar magic like you do on the s08, the bass is dd like and the transient attack is very planar precise. The mids aren’t thin, so drums and guitars shine. The cable and case are excellent while the eartips are imo junk. I highly recommend getting liquid silicone eartips like Epz m100, hiby wg01, softears uc, divinus prism, azla crystal/mythril to highlight the transient attack while maintaining the bass and balance in general. Also this is extremely comfortable like the s15 as it uses the same mold. ... show more
