Although the necklace itself appears to be fine and its looks are not disappointing, the item was transmitted by Amazon in the manufacturer's original cardboard box that had simply been slipped into a barely padded, flexible plastic shipping envelope. As a result, the top of the original cardboard box was damaged--severely dented and torn--in transit, thereby rendering the same container that had been designed and intended for use in presenting the necklace no longer suitable for that purpose. The prospective gift of the necklace thereby lost a considerable part of its anticipated impact and appeal.
