I bought this bass for practice. The roasted maple neck at a low price point was attractive, as I live in the Northeast U.S. where climate changes can warp guitars fairly easily. Pros: decent sound, nice finish, neck stability and playability. Cons: prone to neck dive, extremely cheap pickups (so cheap the pole pieces disappear inside the pickup).

Can't believe the quality / set up of this import right out of the box. It was definitely set up before I received it by someone who knew what they were doing! Maybe the neck could use a tiny bit more relief, but it's actually fine the way it is. Frets are great, no level or side file needed. Action was set low, plays great , no buzzing or dropouts. Pickups are good...could I nit-pick on their sound? Maybe not Seymour Duncan's but they sound great through my bass rig with a little preamp tweaking. Bass looks killer, slight finish haze on certain areas but really need the right light to see it. I gotta say this is the best sub $150 bass I've ever played! Might get another!

To start, it came out of the box with decent action. Just a slight adjustment to get rid of some fret buzz. It feels amazing in the hands. Near perfect neck. Decent tuners that keep a tune. Thru-body neck, with a nice satin-smooth finish. The H-H pickups are nice and bright and can get down to a nice deep roar. The black stripe which contrasts with the beautiful natural finish stands out. In the future, I hope Leo Jaymz company adds some resin/driftwood bodies like the guitar models. Honestly, that is the only way to improve on these. They can be compared to the $800 Ibanez Sr series bass. They are in my opinion just as good. Haven't gigged with it yet but will use it at rehearsal this weekend and see how it holds up. Leo Jaymz company, keep improving and making more bases. Try your Rick bass kits and making like 2 or 3 variations. They will sell out fast!!

Great Bass and a Great Price. It said it had a mahogany body, looks ash to me, I like ash so no problem. The neck feels more like P Bass than a J Bass. It came set up pretty much perfect, no defects.

I’ve never seen a bass that’s as bad as this. First off it’s heavy and you can’t shoulder it without the head dropping fast to the ground so it’s head heavy. If that’s a Gibson body I never want a Gibson anything. The paint job is nice that’s about it. Playing this bass will wear you out pretty fast. For $30 more you can you can buy an Ibanez GIO 4 string for around $199. After 68 years I can say that my Ibanez GIO 22 Fret bass is a fantastic bass in every way. I have always played top shelf Rickenbacker basses. This Inanez is the best sounding bass I’ve ever played.

this is an incredible value, regardless of personal preference ( I think if this was short scale it would be perfect) the quality of this instrument is far beyond the price it sells for , sounds great , plays great and looks great . this could be used professionally by anyone for any gig . Only possible downside I could find is that the les Paul body shape ( with a strap ) makes playing at the low end of the neck somewhat uncomfortable for smaller people like myself but that may be no problem at all for a player who is taller or has slightly longer arms, it in fact may be an asset in that situation . Bottom line, this would be a bargain at 3 times the price and the packaging is incredible.
