  • This is a nice kit..
Color: ST Sunburst
It’s a good kit, no doubt. Even just the body would be worth it, but this body, finished, with neck and everything else, it’s a great deal. I dispensed with the crappy ceramic pickups and electronics and went with a loaded Wilkinson Alnico 5 pick guard. Easy peasy sounds less sleazy. It was such an easy build and very playable right off the bat. I ordered a Fender bridge to replace what it came with, not that it’s not usable, but it’s not exactly a divebombing tremolo stock. I have some locking tuners I may swap out too, we’ll see. You can take this kit with a few modifications and have a really nice looking and sounding guitar, like way better than the Squier price that you pay for it. The new loaded pick guard fit perfectly, I didn’t even have to drill, but I did have to take off the neck to put it on. You can put this thing together in an hour. ... show more

  • Defective product, not ready for sale.
Color: ST Gold
This is a defective product. There are no screw holes for the string trees on the headstock. Also, the ground wire to the bridge claw doesn't come pre-soldered. Neck needs to be shimmed for proper action. Zero support from the manufacturer.

  • Good guitar for the price
Color: TL Black
The only things I needed to add were a drilled hole in the body for one side of the strap screw and holes through the body as well as ferrels for the strings. The body was immaculately painted I wish those holes were there so I didn’t have to figure out how to put holes in the body with it painted. Other than that the build was easy and went togeather quickly. ... show more

  • Great for First or 15th Guitar Kit - not perfect, but good
Color: TL Gold
The packaging is well designed and compact. I like that it's not foam, but cardboard. A couple of small pieces were loose, but the rest was bagged. The guitar neck and body were in cloth. There was no apparent damage from shipping. This kit comes with two pickguards, which is an excellent touch. The chrome parts look good and many are covered with plastic film (like the pickguards). The screws and small items are mostly well sorted and packaged. There were no assembly instructions in the box, so I'm publishing a YouTube video to provide step-by-step instructions (Scuttle Productions channel). Pros: Nice finish/paint. It looks better than I expected. The neck is nicely finished and looks great. There were no high frets. The drilled holes mostly line up well, throughout. Assembly was easy, yet fun. Cons (less than ideal): the paint around the neck pocket chips very easily. I hardly touched it and it flaked off, so I stabilized it with super glue to stop the flaking/chipping. The tuners are not very good--I upgraded. There were no screws for attaching the output jack plate to the body. Some of the finish around pre-drilled holes has too much clear coat, so the screws chip the paint. I drilled out the neck holes in just the body to ensure a proper and snug fit with the neck. The included strings are light (9s or even 8s), so I used my own 10s. Be aware that the string tree holes were not drilled, which is easy to do. No problem. OVERALL: the quality is better than I expected. The paint looks good. The kit is well thought-out. Great color choices. It compares to kits double the price. Well done, Leo Jaymz. ... show more

  • WOW! Very impressive!
Color: ST Sunburst
Man what are the negative reviews about? This thing is awesome. Sure you have to do a little setting up but that's to be expected even if you buy one already built. The finish is absolutely beautiful. The neck was perfectly straight right out of the box. I'm not a big fan of single coil pickups so I replaced the whit pickguard with the black one with HSH pickup configuration. I replaced the single coil with a hot rail, and replaced the humbuckers with Seymour Duncans. This guitar is worth way more than what I paid. ... show more

  • Fit MIM neck
Color: TL Surf Green
Can't speak of the neck or tuners quality as I put a setup MIM one on mine. Fit great. Had to drill new holes in the neck. Put tape on drill bit to not go to deep, still did. Small hole to fill just above last fret. Oops. Different bridge came with mine than in the picture. Not a 3 saddle, but a 6, that can work as a string through. Sweet! I ordered ferrels to make that modification. The 3 bridge screws were crazy difficult, couldn't screw them all the way in. Middle one is stuck half way. Need to use vice grips to take it out. If anything is that difficult don't force it, drill some. Proper. Live and learn. Great kit for practicing modifications. Sounds good unplugged, even with the included strings. ... show more

  • Stay away from this kit
Color: TL Black
First I'll give what I feel is the good. Guitar has some weight to it assembled unlike most kit guitars, neck needs very little to make nice, the connectors are helpful, but not necessary, fit for everything is pretty good. The bad: neck is very loose in the pocket, body has missing paint on the edges here and there, may have burned through during polishing before boxing up, there are some scratches that I'm not sure how they got there as it was wrapped well in the package, tuners are throw aways, bridge leaves a lot to be desired. It looks nice from 15 feet but up close it looks used. Overall, if you have a need to throw 120 bucks on something that doesn't bother you, dive right in. If you're a perfectionist, I'd stay far away. Maybe I got a bad one or a return (some wrapping was already torn when I opened it) but I don't think I'd buy again. Edit: Truss rod isn't keyed for the allen wrench, cannot adjust truss rod, tuners absolutely need to be replaced, overall not a good kit. Am returning. Stay away!!!! ... show more

  • Super impressive
Color: ST Sunburst
I mean just wow, older player and have a lot of guitars, didn't have a sunburst so was itching to get one. 1st, it's really good looking, finish was beautiful, neck was straight out of the box, no fret work was needed. 2nd, it did need some work on the nut, im a amateur luthier, so wasn't a problem for me 3rd, pickups are whatever, not horrible but not great, I changed the configuration to HSS on mine added a seymour duncan humbucker I had laying around. I did use electronics it came with, probably will replace in the future For 120 bucks, I am super impressed, will buy a tele model in the near future ... show more
