Excellent for blocking light (for sleeping, A/V production), improving energy efficiency of home
Size: 52 x 95 inch
Color: Black
To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for HVAC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years. [UPDATE on 1/1/23: our total electricity consumption in 2022 dropped even further to just 5,500 kWh (1,600 of which was for HVAC) for the year. We have HALVED our electricity consumption. Huge savings.] Much of our attention has been on our windows. In addition to improving energy efficiency, we have thought about privacy and, in certain rooms, blocking bright light (to allow for sleep by day, for photography and video production…). With all this in mind, we are very pleased with our LEMOMO Black Thermal Blackout Curtains. They’re thick, solid, soft to the touch, and – when installed from ceiling to floor – they do a superb job of blocking even the brightest sunshine. We left our existing curtains in place and installed the Lemomo curtains on top of them. This meant that we needed curtain braces that extend several inches away from the wall. We found something that does the trick beautifully: TEJATAN - Double Curtain Rod Brackets (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W9FZJJ9). We can also recommend the rods we got: Ivilon Drapery Window Curtain Rod - End Cap Style Design 1 Inch Pole. 72 to 144 Inch Color Black (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9QCX9N) Here are some other products we purchased at Amazon that we can recommend to those interested in cutting home energy consumption: STATINT Window Film Privacy One Way Daytime Mirror Static Non-Adhesive Solar Glass Film Heat Control: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W3VCZNF Dramatically reduces amount of direct sunlight, gives privacy by day, and protects from shattering. Aootek solar lights 120 LEDs with lights reflector, 270 degree Wide Angle, IP65 Waterproof, Security Lights for Front Door, Yard, Garage, Deck (4 pack): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NQ4L1SB , as well as Solar Lights Outdoor,WWimy 210 LED 2500LM Motion Sensor Lights with Remote Control, 3 Heads Security LED Flood Lights, IP65 Waterproof, 270° Wide Angle Illumination Wall Lights with 3 Modes (2 Packs): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T9F2MM1 Purchased in August 2021, these lights continue to work well here in the SE, saving us over 150 kWh/year. We shared some of these lights with relatives in the North; they also report that their lights are going strong after a rough winter. Kuman KW47-US Electricity Usage Monitor Plug Power Watt Voltage Amps Meter with Digital LCD www.amazon.com/Electricity-Monitor-Voltage-Overload-Protection/dp/B07DPJ3RGB Looking back, we can say that purchasing a Usage Monitor Plug has been one of our wisest and most useful moves, and a very inexpensive one at that. Klein Tools TI250 Rechargeable Thermal Imager: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089QW8R9S This tool, along with the Usage Monitor Plug, gave us a very good picture of where we were wasting energy. It was thanks to this tool that we realized, for example, that our then uninsulated recessed lights were really problematic, prompting us to purchase the following. These were easy to put in, sealed with Great Stuff: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSANBTY AcuRite Wireless Indoor Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T0K8NXC We got two of these to go with our AcuRite weather station. They allow us to monitor temperature and humidity in four places at once: outside, in our living room, in our crawlspace, and in our unfinished attic. Thanks to these readings, we have established a smarter, more energy-efficient way of ventilating our crawlspace. They also helped us see that our attic needed additional ventilation in the roof, prompting us to purchase the following. 4 SEASONS Solar Powered Polycarbonate Vent, Weatherproof Design, Quietly Cools Up to 500 Sq Ft, 400 CFM: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DMSCPJA RYB HOME Room Darkening Patio Door Curtain, Hanging Room Divider Screen Insulated Drapes Privacy Wall Panel: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D32DJ2V Grandekor Blackout Window Blinds and Shades Cordless Cellular Shades: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NWBGVL3

Beautiful
Size: 52 x 54 inch
Color: Frost Grey
I bought these in gray for my living room because it gets very hot in there in summer and cold in winter. The sun gets bright in there and you can’t see the tv. I was so pleased with the feel and quality of the fabric. Much nicer than other cheap curtains. I put a valance that is white, gray and touch of purple over them. Looks exquisite, expensive, beautiful! I notice such a difference in the temperature in the room since I hung these. I save money from not having to run the air conditioning now. Amazing! Definitely room darkening and does the job insulating. I am so extremely happy with these gray curtains I bought 2 more sets for a bedroom. If you are looking for curtains, get these. The gray is a beautiful color, fabric and quality.

Great Quality Curtains
Size: 52 x 84 inch
Color: Cappuccino
I absolutely love the fabric. It's a medium weight curtain almost a microfiber feel to them. They are great quality for a decent price. I love that they are machine washable! I got the cappuccino color for my living room. They are not the black out curtains with the white backing that ruins in the wash. But they do a great job blocking it the light. They hang nicely and we're simple to put up on any curtain rod. I will be buying more for other rooms!

Works well
Size: 52 x 84 inch
Color: Royal Blue
These curtains have spots to go on the rod so no rings or clips needed. The color is great and it blocks out the light well. It was easy to put up and does what I need. There is just a small hint of light seen through these during direct sunlight, almost like little stars.

Compared to the 100% blackout version...
Size: 52 x 84 inch
Color: Black
These are very nice and look wonderful. There are differences though between these and the 100% version from the brand. My windows are all facing the full force of the sun during the day. I like to sleep in total dark and I hate having to run my AC. These curtains do make a big difference for me. PROS: -- These get the living room (with a larger window) almost but not quite as dark. Even in the bright midday sunlight, you can see that they do a good job in the living room. --These really do darken a room. -- To my surprise, they also really tamp down outside noise. I live at the front of the building and I love that I'm not hearing all the distant chatter and moving about. -- They look more lux than I expected for the price. There is nothing cheap-looking about these. -- The black ones don't accumulate dust. I was worried about that because we get a lot of dust. -- Out of about 6 brands I priced, these were the best for quality. Also, you get 2 panels for the price. -- Though these did have some wrinkles when I unpackaged them, those fell out after a couple of days when I used wrinkle-release spray. Do that after you hang them up and the wrinkles gradually fade. -- I have yet to turn on my AC this summer & usually, I have to as soon as we hit 80F. There are no real negatives but I want to point out something. The grommets are large and can let in a lot of light. I hung mine higher than I expected to work around this. You can see that the living room curtains sit a bit high off the floor. It doesn't look bad but just plan for this. I also threaded some fabric through the bedroom curtains to block the grommets. Comparing these "regular" blackouts to the 100 % blackout curtains (from the same brand), I prefer the 100% version for the extra cooling effect alone. These are (according to the seller when I asked) "85%-99% blackout". I think they are correct. Just pay attention when ordering because it's easy to get these instead of the 100% blackout version. (I do prefer the 100% ones for the extra cooling I get from them.) For cooling, these have been so nice. I can tell a difference with these in the living room. However, there is a HUGE cooling effect with the 100% blackout that I have in my bedroom. Between these and the floor fan, I have no need yet to turn on the AC and the outside temps here have been as high as 85F. The humidity is really high with the heat. These curtains - even the "regular" blackout ones have been a big help. But, again, I would suggest just getting the 100% blackout. They are worth every penny for what I save on my electricity. Keep in mind that it's going to depend on how much temperature protection you need. If you just need decent cooling (or heat retention), these are really good. If, like me, you are dealing with a lot of heat from the sun go with the 100% blackout from the brand.
