These are great for two large windows in my house, serving as black-out and keeping the warmth in. To be most efficient, I ordered four panels for the large front window and 4 for the sliding glass window. Stretched out two panels only, will not provide the black-out ability I wanted here. The wrinkles are not bad at all, and in time they will come out. I suppose I could have sprayed them with a spray bottle, or put them in the dryer with a wet hand towel, but I just hung them straight up. These are grommet type curtains and boy were they easy to hang. This being my first experience having curtains that have grommets (circles that you line up, back to back to hang on the curtain rod all at once instead of the threading one thing at a time). I had help to hang these, so now I know the proper way to have the panels line up nicely, to not have open spaces. Very nice indeed. These are brand new to me, and I am happy I got these at a good price. I have not washed them, so can't say how they will be after being washed in a machine. When the time comes, I will wash them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle, and dry them by hand (hanging with clip hangers for line drying), rather than putting them in any dryer. Great blackout effect from these curtains that does a good job of keeping the sun out of my eyes when it passes by my office window, works so well I bought more for my kid's bedroom to darken the room at nap time. Material is good quality and doesn't feel rough, you can see pinholes of light through them if you get up close but the darkening effect they provide is good enough to darken a room on a bright sunny day easily. ... show more

I had to shop around and took a change because of photos shown about this product. It has been a great purchase, quality material and even a noticeable thermal barrier. How much I am not certain but it does help. The only light seen in the photo is my not totally covering the window opening. I ordered the lilac and the color was so beautiful. They were not see-through at all and felt very well made, unfortunately, I can't say for the long-term durability as I had to return them. To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for HVAC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years. [UPDATE on 1/1/23: our total electricity consumption in 2022 dropped even further to just 5,500 kWh (1,600 of which was for HVAC) for the year. We have HALVED our electricity consumption. In addition to improving energy efficiency, we have thought about privacy and, in certain rooms, blocking bright light (to allow for sleep by day, for photography and video production…).
