Super fun build and comes with step by step instructions that are easy to understand. Each section has its own numbered bag of pieces to simplify assembly. It is large so will need ample space for storage if keeping on display. Great addition to any space lover and LEGO collections.

This model is a must for any space fan's collection! The 747's deployable landing gear is simply awesome so take your time to follow the assembly instructions closely and re-test the operation along the way. The Shuttle's bay doors are very cool and the Lego team cleverly designed attachment points for the landing gear and engine bells when in transport mode - nice! I elected to display the completed pair on its stand as I wasn't overly comfortable with letting the HEAVY weight of the set bear down on the landing gear mechanics (especially on the front) for an extended time. Overall assembly was drama-free and the instructions are excellent. I do wish Lego could have designed the exterior skins to be more smooth (fewer exposed studs) but I get that would mean more custom components (and likely higher pricing). Still, th eoverall appearance is beautiful and very much consistent with the real thing! By the way, for those who haven't tried it, check out the Lego Builder app. I'm very much a "paper guy" and love written instructions. I typically look ahead and gather the necessary components for 4-5 steps at a time using Lego's excellent instruction manual. I followed this method for the Shuttle build. For the 747, I decided to give the app a try and I must say it's pretty cool! It has as a nice format to show each step and its components in a beautifully executed 3D format. For this model, it also has 3D animation where you can rotate/zoom the assemblies for fun or to look more closely. However, other models are presented only as an electronic version of the paper manual. Great kit, get one! ... show more

    • Really big Lego shuttle carrier!
Bought for my grandson (11 yrs old) who started in it one evening before bed and finished next day (he’s very good at building Lego sets). He loves it, the design is great with some moveable parts. Of course being Lego, it’s quality. It’s quite large, so we need to figure that out on some kind of display. Just put together this LEGO set for my office desk, and it looks pretty neat. i like how detailed it is and it was fun to build during my weekends. 😊 the instructions were clear enough, and i’m happy with how it turned out. however, i wish the pieces fit a little more snug in some areas. still, it’s a nice display piece and a good challenge for any space enthusiast. if you’re into air & space decor, this might be a good pick for you. just keep in mind it takes some patience to finish. ... show more
