AMAZING Zelda game great for a beginner. I’ve never played a Zelda game before and I am a total wimp who jumps and runs when anything chases me. My family got me BOTW for Christmas and I wanted to play it, but it was all too scary. Link’s Awakening was the perfect way to get myself into the series without screaming and freaking out. The art style is cutesy and just not scary enough that I can tackle the enemies and bust my way through the story line. The plot is fantastic and has the classic elements of other Zelda games, and the map is more condensed and easy to follow with some areas to explore/multiple ways to get somewhere, but it doesn’t have the “wildly explore and empty areas between zones” that BOTW or other games have. The map is definitely condensed but it’s adorable and still large. I saw a lot of reviews say it was too easy, but this was perfect for me because it allowed me to ease myself into the franchise and it took me a solid three weeks to play through it. Now I’m moving on to BOTW and I’m able to play it without being too scared because of this game. Highly recommend.

At nearly 40 years old, I am definitely a huge part of the nintendo generation. Growing up nintendo means we've all played one, most or maybe all of the zelda games because Link is awesome. So the pro of this title is that its a beautiful remaster. I really don't think they could have made it any better. The con is the price. The sole reason to pay full price for this is you're either an old (or young) nintendo nerd like myself and you love the games or if you have a kid that has to have every aaa title on their switch. But I say just grab it. Its immediately addictive and the replay value is definitely there. Itd just be alot cooler at $30 but what can ya do? 🤷♂️

SPOILER!! The character you play as is named Link, not Zelda. This blew my daughter's mind even though I told her this several times before. The game is good, it can be challenging at times, but very fun.

The game looks fantastic and the gameplay is simple yet fun. However, It is far too easy and linear. There is no real challenge to it and no need to really collect anything outside of what the dungeons offer (or required weapons) in order to beat it. Also, The difficult curve oddly ramps up in the last 2 dungeons while every other one before it was a cakewalk. I wish they'd done a better job at progressively making each one harder and harder.
