  • Nice value
Size: 10
I bought the pot for casting bullets. I was using a hot plate with a ladle. That process did work but it was messy. Using this pot with the spout is just really easy. Because the heating coil wraps around the pot your lead temperature, I believe, is more consistent than heating the lead from the bottom. I rigged up an exhaust system for this in my shop using a dryer vent and a 4" in line exhaust fan. This works great. ... show more

  • It works well.
Size: 10
This size pot works for me. I'll typically make a couple of hundred rounds at a time, so the pot size is fine for me. But if you're really into making huge quantities of bullets, or cast large lead objects like dive weights or sinkers, you might want to go with one of the larger Lee pots. But if you're into black powder shooting and make smaller quantities at a time for the price this is the melter for you. It's a great product, good quality, and does what it's designed to do well. I'm sure I'll get years of use out this one. . ... show more

  • An essential for pouring
Size: 10
The machine is very small, which is nice because I can store it on the shelf next to my other supplies. From a safety aspect, using a machine rather than hand pouring is much better. No splashes, overspill, or holding onto hot items. It melts lead ingots in about 10-15 minutes with the temperature fairly low. The only reason I rated it 4 stars was because the opening which metal pours out of is very small. Good for precision, bad that I can't pour faster. Also, be forewarned that the machine will smoke pretty bad running it for the first time. ... show more

  • A great starter pot
Size: 10
This is a very good lead melting pot for anybody who starting out into bullet casting I've had this for a year now and have not had any problems with it the pot heat up very quickly and I've never had a problem with any functioning there is a slight adjustable measure on it for the amount of LED you want to come out of the spout which definitely helps when casting bullets if you plan on getting into bullet casting on a big scale I would definitely recommend a bigger pot but this is good for small amounts ... show more

  • Great melting pot for a fair price.
Size: 10
Arrived quickly and packaged properly. Pot seems unstable, but feels more secure when lead is in due to balancing. I do recommend using a very sturdy base for safety. If you start to have a drip leak, use a screwdriver to gently turn the pour spout plunger from side to side. There is a slot on top that helps with this. Also make sure to "season" the pot before first use. Turn the pot on and heat/burn off any residue from manufacturing and shipping. This will reduce some of the smoke with your first pour. ... show more

  • Explosive
Size: 10
If i could get a 0 on this i would, ran it on medium like it said and i was amazed how fast it melted, i had high hopes for this pot, and 30 mins later after i put my pure lead into the pot onr of the electrodes exploded in me, while still intact sparks shot everywhere and burt my hand slightly. After that it slowly shut down and burned out and i was left with a heap of fluxed lead that i can not remove. Theres a few dollars out the drain. I am very dissapointed in lee ... show more

  • very happy
Size: 10
It scared me at first. When I first plugged it in, smoke rolled out of it. I was pretty sure this might be normal, but grabbed the fire extinguisher just in case. I would imagine it was the factory lubricant or the packing grease that was burning off. The second and future times I used it, there was no smoke. Melts lead great! Very happy with this! ... show more

  • CLOGS.
Size: 10
This thing pisses me off. I don’t know why it has such great reviews. If your lead has ANY slag in it whatsoever, this thing clogs and requires you to shove something up the spigot to clear it. I feel that I waste a ton of time on this. I use it for casting bank sinkers. I’m going to try and standard hot pot next with a ladle. I’ll give it 3 stars, because it works, the temp control is nice, and it’s built well. ... show more
