The Lee Magnum melter furnace was designed especially for the Ladle Caster. It features all of the great features of the Pro 20 including a large 4" diameter pot that hold approximately 20 pounds of lead and a 700-watt tubular heating element. This furnace does not have bottom pour capability and is designed for Ladle casting only.     • It gets hot, it melts things!
I use it to melt salts to nitre bluing old gun parts. I believe it is the largest melter that Lee makes. Seems to heat up well. You will need a thermometer to monitor the temperature of what you are melting.

No complaints at all. Though this doesn’t have some nice features of the more expensive version, it will serve you well. It’s a basic unit that performs as expected and gets the job done. Would buy again.

    • Great for ladle pouring big bullets or multiple cavity molds
I got this big pot to ladle pour my .45-70 molds as the 10# production pot's mouth is too small. As an added benefit, I can put a lot more alloy in this, which means more time casting and less time waiting for fresh alloy to come to temp. I've also found the control to be stable, and once it reaches the desired temp, it pretty much stays there. ... show more

    • Don't buy a bottom pour. Get this!
I got sick of the bottom pour drip-o-matic so bought this. It's wonderful with a Lyman ladle. The time I save not having to mess with the drips more than makes up for the time lifting and pouring the ladle.I'd even say this is faster once you've got a good process going.

melted 10 lbs of pewter without issue (in spite of the paper that comes with the unit stating it was not for pewter). melted a pair of old lead diving belts (over 40 lbs) i got for free and worked well (not all 40 at one pass).     • Want to melt a lot of lead? This is what you need.
Does get hot quick... and holds a LOT of melted lead. Harder to get out than one with a spout on the bottom - but by the same token it doesn't leak like the ones with the spout on the bottom.

This is the perfect pot for ladle casting. No bottom spout bar getting in way. Works as advertised. Lee has great quality. Took 30 min to melt 15lb pure lead.
