  • Great bang for the buck portable Press
I was using a regular budget lee press screwed to a board and clamped to the table, this eliminates that setup hassle and yields the same results. I was a little skeptical on this press at first. I've loaded a couple hundred 308 rounds and about a thousand 9mm with it so far. It's been great and very reliable. If I had gripes with it they would be the edges are not "egronomic" but it's not like your sitting down and cranking out 2k loads with this thing in one rip. Also The breechlock bushing it comes with is a pain I just bought a bunch of the lock screw spline types and it both speeds up the process and makes your process very consistent. If you go that route you won't be disappointed. Rifle rounds are more difficult but just lube the cases properly and it really isn't bad. It's perfect for pistol round load development because there's basically no equipment setup. Just setup your scale set up your dies and your off the the races. I'm very pleased with this for a portable setup. ... show more

  • Works great!
I'm only in an apartment so this was the perfect option for me and really the only viable option. I have used this for 38 special 9 mm and 40 Smith & Wesson and for everything it has worked great. In the beginning it is a little bit tight but you lube the shaft up and get the muscle memory and it becomes a lot easier. Definitely a decent workout and great if you want to do some reloading on the couch. I highly recommend this as it takes up almost no room. You can put this in a couple boxes of dies in a 50 cal ammo can and it tucks away neatly. ... show more

  • Perfect
Works as intended. Great buy. Update: I wanted to update my old review to show a few differences in this latest version of the breech lock hand press. The lock pin feature has been removed and the smooth red paint finish has been changed to a pitted powder coat finish. The rough finish of the newer version is a plus as it does aid in the grip when your hands get sweaty. The removal of the lock pin feature is a minus in my opinion because once your die is set and the lock ring is tightened it's nearly impossible to remove the die without the bushing coming out of the press. This means if you only have one bushing you'll have to unscrew it from the die in your hands and put it back in the press and screw your next die in and once set and the lock ring is tightened you're going to have to repeat the process yet again to go to the next die. The removal of the lock pin is no doubt a move to force the consumer to buy a bushing for each die in order to make the press convenient to use... and of course the lower production costs means even more profit for Lee precision. The press is still a five star portable press, but be aware of the inconvenience if you don't have a spare bushing for each die. ... show more

  • Nice portable press
This press works well for most things. The breech lock system is very convenient and allows one to switch dies quickly without readjusting them. To get the full benefit you will need to by bushings for all you dies. To press is great for priming and seating bullets. It can be used for forming brass if necessary. But it is a little weak for this job. I ended up buying a stronger press for depriming and reforming. But, I still use this press for everything else. It is convenient if you want to assemble some ammo while watching tv or if you want to bring a small reloading kit with you on vacation. ... show more

  • Solid and convenient
This is a solid built unit. Very convenient for when you'd rather sit in the recliner instead of at a table or bench. Mainly use this for decapping with a decapping die. Good size, design and value. Quick, easy to use and change dies.

  • Ain’t gotta have a lot of room
I retired and gave my reloading equip away to travel in an rv for 2 years. Got tired of doing that and bought a small house in Texas and decided to start reloading again. Bought the lee loader first, have used em before an they work, but slow. Decided to buy this and a lee sizer crimper die and dang, this works good. Only use for decapping, priming and crimping/sizing, but it does save time and give good results. Like the fact I can buy extra insrerts and set my dies up in em, tighten em down, pull em out and there still set. Great little invention for workin in small spaces. ... show more

  • Best Decapper / Deprimer Ever!
This thing is GREAT!!!! My objective was to have a great decapper at a reasonable price. I purchased this along with: - Lee Precision Universal Press Shell Holder Set - Lee Precision Decapping Die - An extra Lee Precision Pin/90783 Universal Decapping Pin. Before purchasing this for decapping, I looked at two other methods: - Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Hand DePrimer Tool - $37.99 (Ho Hum Reviews) - The Harvey Deprimer - $49.95 (No Free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime) Although the Frankford Arsenal and Harvey Deprimers were slightly less expensive options, after reading the reviews for the Frankford Arsenal and not having Amazon Prime Shipping available for the The Harvey Deprimer, I decided to purchase the Lee press, shell holder, and decapping die. The total for these items was around $93, but the quality and flexibility offered are worth the extra money. I sat down in front of a football game and decapped 1,485 pieces of brass in about four hours. It was very easy. There are only a few things that I would recommend.: 1) Purchase an extra, or two, universal decapping pins. I accidentally broke one when I didn't properly line up a shell. 2) Slightly loosen the 1/2" nut that holds the decapping pin on the die. If I had loosened it just a bit, the pin would have slide up under excessive pressure like it is designed to do and not bent. I don't think I will ever use this hand press kit for anything other than decapping, but it does an amazing job of quckly and easily decapping. ... show more

  • Quality
Lee has been selling this inexpensive hand press for at least 60 years, which should tell you something. Great for experimenting with loads at the range, loading away from home, or making small batches. Lee makes a quality, inexpensive product.
