I gave this a 5-Star review as long as you’re aware that this bumper is of a lighter gauge steel and not the 1/8”-3/16” thick steel used for heavy duty off-road crawling. is good for functional use as a tire carrier for light trails and mall crawling. The supplied bearings are very nice quality. Fit, function and finish were all great. Installation took about an hour by myself. My Jeep has a 1-1/2” body lift, so the tire swingarm and turnbuckle mounting points didn’t line up, but was easily compensated for with a quick trip to the hardware store for a solid steel standoff to lower the mounting point. Mounted on a 2007 Jeep JKU Rubicon, 6” suspension lift, 1-1/2” Body lift, 37” tires. I also run 40” tires and with the body lift there is clearance for a 40” spare… without the body lift, a 38” spare is a tight fit buy will fit. ... show more

After doing alot of research I decided to go with this rear bumper. I installed it on a 2007 jeep wrangler. I wanted one with a 2 inch receiver, 2 D-rings and led lights. Install was very easy and the directions were excellent. This bumper weighs 65 lbs and is very well made. I am very satisfied with this bumper. The Rugged Ridge bumper that came with my wrangler jk would not accept a winch. I ordered this as a replacement and mated it with a Badlands 1200 Winch from Harbor Freight. It was delivered in good shape without damage. Installation of the bumper was simple and straight forward. Everything lined up without modification. Mounting the winch was not easy. It required two sets of hands to get things lined up and bolted on. But thru no fault of the bumper design. This bumper is not as heavy and sturdy as my previous bumper. So we will see how it does long term. But if you are on a budget, or feel you do not require a heavy duty bumper for your purposes, then I think this is a good choice. ... show more

This bumper was higher quality than I expected. The packing was double boxed/stapled together, and the box arrived with no damage at all on the corners. the finish was very nice, with no chips or flaws. It is very heavy, and will take 2 people to mount it up comfortably. It looks just as good as any $600-$800 bumper, at less than half the cost. The bumper bolted up perfectly, with no vehicle modifications required. HOW TO INSTALL: 1. Remove oem bumper (if you can't figure this one out, you better have someone install your new one.) 2. Probably remove your muffler, which makes it much easier to get to the center install bolts later. 3. You have 2 rectangular pieces which slide INSIDE the frame rails on each side. Those are what your SHORT bolts slide into. The short bolts will go from the outside of bumper, into those nuts on your special plate. Don't fully tighten down any bolts until all 8 bolts are installed. 4. Then your other piece is for the center support near the tow hook. You have 4 longer bolts there for the center mount area. start those bolts half way or more. 5. Finish tightening the center bracket first.. which will make sure the sides are aligned nicely later one. The package arrived undamaged. It was packed and wrapped with care. Installed on 2017 Wrangler JKU. There were no installation instructions however, it was still an easy install. Install time was about 2 hours with basic tools and you will probably need some assistance to mount it. I wired my LEDs to the reverse lights. You can easily tap into the driver's side tail light to get to the reverse light wire. You will need extra wire to run to the tail light. The black wire goes to the black wire and the red goes to white with the gray stripe. The LEDs give off a tremendous amount of light. I am extremely pleased with them. If you have issues, there are a few videos on YouTube for reference. The bumper has a textured semi shiny finish to it. It looks good. However, I knew I was going to be painting/color matching to my front bumper. I used Duplicolor Bed Armor spray. Ten coats gave it a matte black finish with a durable texture. ... show more

I added this to the wife's 2017 JKU when she went to 35's. For the record her wheel and tire does weigh approximately 100lbs, definitely on the heavy side. Easy to install and looks great. This is what she wanted, something that swings out together with the door and didn't break the bank. I also added the in tire brake light ring and eliminated the 3rd brake light. We experienced the shaking and clunking that other reported. By design it seems to not be a tight snug fit against the door due to the top bushing that presses against the door always seemed to have a "gap" between the door. I spaced it further out with some additional washers. I also had to shorten the turnbuckle and push it in against the door to make it real snug. She still has some clunking but no more than expected. To make it quick and easy to disconnect and swing out to clean the door I used a small 3/8" (I think that's the size) hitch pin from an old garden cart instead of the provided bolt, and wired in a quick disconnect for the brake light. I didn't have a pic that has the hitch pin in it, the attached pic has the original bolt. In all, very pleased with the outcome and product. Is it the same as other $600+ bumper and tire carriers out there, no. Would I get it again, yes! The tire itself does wobble around on bumps, but remains secure. ****Update June 6, 2021**** Out on the trail, a few weeks back, a loud "clicking" sound developed when hitting bumps. Upon investigating, a 2 inch Crack developed on the piece that connects the tire to the carrier. It goes from the edge of the steel to the bolt hole. The clicking sound comes from the two pieces at the Crack rubbing when the tire shakes on bumps. It will only be a matter of time until there is complete failure. Will need to replace the entire bumper and carrier. I am not confident enough in the manufacturing of the steel and quality used. I have had to lower the rating to a 1 ... show more
