my phone screen was cracked to all hell and i was putting off replacing it and suddenly i get a gut feeling to order a screen so i chose this one and spent 55$ to have my local repair shop install this one. this is light years better than the one that came installed with the phone originally, this screen is actually durable (not that I'd ever test the accidental concrete drop from 4 feet in the air ever again) but still. im also gonna get that 7$ case for my phone like I'd originally planned on doing soon. if you're going to pick screen to install or pay someone else to then this is a great product. but don't forget to safeguard it with a screen protector+case of some kind. ... show more

I was repairing a family member's phone whose screen had been cracked and got to the point where it was barely visible. It's an inexpensive phone, but we still needed data off of it, so I bought this figuring that it would either be a long-term repair or a short term that would allow us to get the data off. I'm not a professional by any means, but I have done similar repairs on phones before. Things to consider: Before you take the phone apart, see if you need to replace the selfie camera or the battery, and order those separately. There are some videos online that will walk you through swapping one of these out. By far, the hardest part is removing the battery without damaging it, as it's glued in pretty good. The rest of the repair is straightforward. The screen is working great. I'm not the world's best gluer, so this probably isn't as water resistant anymore, but it definitely extended the life of this phone, so it's worth it. ... show more

As advertised, will need adhesive tape. Just remove back cover with tools provided (careful not to destroy ribbon cable to finger sensor on back cover) Remove sensor from back cover remove the little screws to expose the connections disconnect battery and screen cable Remove battery (i peeled back the tab on battery and was able to get a better grip along with prying) do not damage the battery or puncture. Using holes in housing press out old screen / and clean up around edges to remove old glass expose clean surface (gloves recommended along with small pick / torch cleaning tips to get good clean surface). Using double sided tape place around edge of front / inside rear plastic housing remove tape from screen circuit board and adhere to screen slide ribbon cable where old one was looped though remove all protective film on front cover exposing tape and press firmly until seated in housing reattach screen and battery connections install screws on protective cover remove protective layer on tape align and press firmly until both pieces are mated. you do not need to remove the adhesive around the finger sensor just be careful not to destroy it too much and can reuse. this is the steps i did, do recommend that if you preform the screen replacement that you be careful and give yourself plenty of time for the repair.
