My husband wanted to pay for a lawn service this year but I told him lets try some new things this year (there's a lot of dogs in our neighborhood and didn't want to invest in a service where they make their money patching brown spots from female dogs' urine). I wanted to see if these things works so I bought a pair. The prongs are well anchored in the metal plate and since I bought them I was the one who had to wear them. The three straps fit well over my shoes giving to a very secure strapping. Once I walked on our lawn, I felt the prongs just sink in the dirt! My advice, when spiking your lawn, hold on to someone each step you take, you cant walk naturally when you have these things on, you have to lift your knees up when walking on your lawn. These are not your average cleats or golf shoes, you're going to work! After my workout, we fertilized and seeded our lawn. My husband roped off the lawn for about two weeks and he was all too excited to mow the lawn. It grew beautifully thick and ever so lush!! Theres also a 6-year-old tree in the front lawn and I could have sworn it grew by 25 percent of its normal size. One of the best lawn tools I've ever used.

These work as well as expected. I was slightly concerned because we have hard red clay and not much rain so I was worried it would not penetrate as expected. I weigh about 140 lbs, and wear a women’s size 7 shoe. However, after the next rain they were very easy to use, but you do have to stop every so often to scrape off the buildup (it comes with a tool for that). They also shifted somewhat during the one hour that I was using them and I had to tighten the straps only twice. There was no issues sinking the spikes all the way into the ground. Not bad for the money.

I have three pairs of spikes shoes that cost $100 plus. My biggest issue is the strength of the strapping and the durability where the strap meets the plastic on the shoe. That is always the first place that breaks. I can’t tell you how far I walked in these And the spikes held up. Great, the straps held up great and they are easy enough to strap with one hand. Good product.
