  • Easy to use aeration option. Assembly required.
Size: Stretch Strap Closure
Lawn aeration shoes. So much easier than the pole that you walk around and jab into the ground. I will say that much. Now, to get into the details. First of all, these shoes arrive unassembled. I don't know why that surprised me, but it did. I had to sit and put all of the spikes into the holes, put the nuts on and tighten them. Was it difficult? No. Time consuming? Not really. Annoying? Slightly. I had planned to take these out of the box, strap them on my feet and take them for a test walk. So, assembly slowed me down. However, that was a one-time thing. One and done. The manufacturer includes everything you need: spikes, nuts and wrench. They even provide you with one extra spike and two extra nuts. Not sure where I will put them so I don't lose them, but I'll figure it out. The spikes are surprisingly sharp. I sat the "shoes" on my bare leg and they do poke. I wasn't punctured, but it was uncomfortable. So, it was a good sign. As for the test walk, I took them out, put them on my lawn and strapped them on my ladies size 10 feet. The fit was good. My shoe/toe didn't hang over too much, and even if it did I don't think it would impact performance. I thought walking in them would be strange. I started with this marionette type walk (pick up the leg very exaggerated, then put it down), but then realized that it wasn't necessary. You can walk pretty normal in the shoes once you get accustomed to them. I walked around my lawn with ease. The instructions did recommend watering prior to use if you have extremely hard ground, but I did not have any issues. Penetration into the ground is good. As you can see in the photos, I went to the edge of my lawn and you can see how far down the spikes go. It is a decent amount. I give kudos for that. The reason I didn't give five stars is that I want to see how how well the aeration works. I could see the holes in the ground when I looked closely. I could feel the holes as I walked. However, I am curious if it is enough for my lawn. When I think of aeration I think of the large plugs that are removed from lawns/greens. So, time will tell. I also knocked a star because of the assembly. Yes, I should have expected it. However, I honestly thought these were going to be a take from the box and go product. So spending 15 minutes assembling was not what I had planned. Time will tell how long they hold up. I am curious how the aeration impacts my lawn. We'll see... ... show more

  • Lawn aerating shoes
Size: Stretch Strap Closure
These come in a box somewhat assembled but went together quickly and easily. I was worried about the size, I had not considered that at all when ordering these and they're quiet large, I think they could go up to a men's 12 or 13 with no problem. You'll see in the picture I look like a child wearing daddy's shoes. I was also worried that since I'm small I wouldn't be heavy enough to push them in the ground, our lawn is so dense we can't even grow weeds in part of it, it has needed aeration for a long time. I was excited to try these out and I did not read the instructions that said to water first but to my delight, even though it was dry, I had no problem walking around the yard. It's not normal walking, there was a little bit of intention in stepping down and pulling up, but just pretend you're a giant chasing some little dude who stole your fancy chicken and have fun with it. I watered and tried again and it was easier like the instructions said, who knew? These seem sturdy so far, more comfortable than I expected given that I was wearing flip flops the leather was soft enough and after I adjusted them a bit they fit my women's size 6 feet like flippers. I like the design, they have just the right amount of spikes, too many and I don't think i could break the ground, too few wouldn't be worth the effort. The sole and straps are sturdy, the pointy bits and the nuts to hold them have a good weight, i don't think they could be bent very easily, plus it came with an extra spike and 2 extra nuts plus a little wrench so you don't have to go find one. ... show more

  • easy to put together. just walk around to aerate lawn
Size: Lace-Up Closure
these come with the spikes and nuts in a separate bag. They were easy to install. A wrench is included to tighten the nuts. only took about 5 minutes to put all of the spikes on. Fits my sneakers well. Have to wait for it to rain to walk around the lawn with them. Tried today but lawn is hard. And there's a definite learning curve to walking in these. The box says these are for epoxy flooring, but the included paper says it's for lawn aeration. That all confused me for a half second, but I understand how these can be used for both. Very sturdy with the spikes. Seem to function well. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed but be careful on size.
Size: Lace-Up Closure
When these arrive, the box does not indicate lawn aeration. I was a bit skeptical but upon unboxing, I found that the product targets multiple markets based on the length of the spikes. These were the long spikes and work wonderfully. One word of caution. I wear a size 9 boot and these barely fit. The strap was maxed out. If I work regular shoes, I'm sure they would go much larger but as I have 2 large dogs, I tend to wear muck-boots when I'm mowing the lawn if you know what I mean! Overall, for my needs, I'm quite happy with these. I got the lace-up kind. ... show more

  • Step to a healthier lawn
Size: Lace-Up Closure
These aerator shoes worked well on our lawn. My husband tied them on over his shoes (much like old fashioned roller skates). They come unassembled, so you have to put the spikes in with bolts (all included). Thankfully, they came with extra parts, because some of the parts were not machined correctly and didn't fit (some were too large, and some were too small). That being said, if there's any breakage in the future we would not be able to replace the broken part. The plastic is a little on the cheaper side, so breakage could become a problem in the future, but for now everything worked as it should. Putting the shoes on requires a little bit of effort, as you have to do it on the lawn because you can't really walk with the spikes on the sidewalk, or indoors. We also fashioned our own storage box so we didn't have to unassembled or to prevent someone being injured while sorting through the lawn tools. A storage bag/box would be a nice addition to this product. ... show more
