I don't think it's got anything to do with the lavender essential oil or coconut oil medium itself, but the smell sure did relax me when I'd use it before bed. The applicator also made a good little massager while applicating the oil. I picked this up in lemon as well, and the contrast of the two was a treat. Great idea- poor execution. The stone is pretty and it rolls well but it smells like actual poop. I'm not just saying "it smells bad" I'm saying it actually smells like excrement with a *hint* of lavender.

I am taking a star away because my bottle leaked during transit. Luckily, it was sealed in a plastic bag, but that bag and the box the oil was in got covered. I do not know if this is an issue with the way the bottle is made or if it was just handled roughly in transit, but at the end of the day, it leaked. The oil itself has a very pleasant and soft lavender smell and is not overpowering in any way. I roll a bit on my wrists when I am stressed at work, and it helps to calm me down. After I got this bottle, I bought a bottle for my sister who loves essential oils. Unfortunately, my sister is deathly allergic to coconuts (has to carry an EpiPen allergic). My stupid self did not realize this is not lavender oil but coconut oil. The front of the bottle clearly says "100% Premium Quality Lavender Oil", so I just assumed that is what it was. I am so glad my sister is the type of person who checks everything because I could have killed her. I am not taking a star for that because it is very clearly written in the title that it is "Pure 100% Coconut Oil", and that would not be fair. I am just pointing out that it also says this item is 100% pure lavender oil, so it can be a bit misleading if you do not pay close attention. ... show more

The scent wasn't overbearing, but pleasant. The applicator was good and not messy so you're not undoing your calm at bedtime dripping with too much oil, or over powered by smell. Good value for the money
