This file organizer is exactly as needed and expected. It seems sturdy enough that I probably won't affix it to the wall and it's going to sit against a wall and on top of a file cabinet. If I load it up too much, I'll be ready to note if it will fall over. It seems well made and it won't fall apart on me. Overall it's just what I needed and hoped for. It's a good thing however that I did not need the parts that help you hang this over a cubicle wall. One of the parts has a soldered screw attached to it, at a weird angle and I don't think it belongs there. The other part does not have this. I’m going to use this file hanger to save space on my desk. It comes with two metal hangers that fit over a ledge but I have a smooth top desk and I don’t want to put holes in it so I am going to use Command Hooks to hang it. The unit has two slots near the top that will accept the hooks. I like the size of the rack. It will accommodate several of my file folders and the bottom is flat so I can use that space for pencils and a stapler. Also, there are flat metal plates on each slot that will accept labels. I have been on an organizational kick lately. The more I've had to be home lately, the more all the piles of stuff are driving me crazy. My kitchen island is the catch all - I have mail, paperwork, receipts - so much stuff all over. I love the idea of this product to be able to sort paper stuff (mail, receipts, etc.) into priorities so I don't lose anything, and I keep on top of deadlines. My favorite part is the little shelf thing on the bottom to put odds & ends. I was going to mount it on the back of my storage cabinet, but it stands up on its own perfectly! Now my island is organized and very open to be able to actually use - I'm so happy! And my husband said it looks really nice too. The metal mesh is a little thin - it arrived with some of the pockets a little bent inward, but it still works and is easy to bend straight. Since I didn't end up mounting it, I can't speak for how all that works but it looks fairly easy/user friendly. You might want to use more heavy weight anchors if you mount on the wall because with 5 slots and a shelf - it can get heavy. Great idea - I am so pleased with my purchase! ... show more

Pros: + We were looking for a hanging file system for some oversized cake photo paper and it works well for it. + The papers hang out well over the edge of the metal, but we used a cardboard piece to prop them up to make it work. We bought this knowing this was the case and had this plan in place from the beginning. We knew that some of our papers were too long to fit sideways in the slots. It works great and looks great. + Installation on the wall was easy. It comes with wall anchors and screws. + The metal mesh design looks great! Pretty sturdy. I like the six pockets with the compartment on the bottom for smaller things. You can hang it on the wall or even stand it up on the desk like I did and works fine. Only thing I wish was that it has a slot for labels. There is only a black metallic plate I could possibly write on in a white marker, but that's not a biggie for me. This saves a lot of space on my desk and keeps my mail and important papers nice and tidy. It is a traditional black metal organizer but it does the job. ... show more

Welding is a bit askew, but we get these to be practical. No problem. However the magazine rack has very short shelf-space. If you have anything floppy it will flop right over. The rack is NOT like the depiction that shows the metal mesh covering over 50-75% of the files, with a little bit of file sticking out the top. The rack will only cover a very small portion of your files, I would say less than 50% area. Leaving the rest of the file dangling in mid-air. Eventually, even the best cardboard will bend and flop over. OK for short term use (active inbox/outbox) but not for anything longer-term than that. ... show more

If you want to hang this over a cubicle, it would work fine. But if you want to hang it over a door like I wanted to, it's not going to work, as for some odd reason, they made this thing with hooks at the top which must be connected with screws that don't lay flush. What a bummer. Mine arrived with a bit of a dent in the bottom rack as well, but it's fine. I like it overall, and mounted it with screws on the kitchen wall, right above the trash can. ... show more
