The coins appear to all be of identical design. They are gold colored. like the illustration, metal, and about an 1/16 inch thick thicker than a dime thinner than a nickle, about as thick as a dime. Their stand out feature is a Spanish style cross. Otherwise there are no markers that would distinguish this coin as national. They have many glyphs and sigils on them. However, even though I am a polyglot and speak and read about a dozen languages I honestly don't recognize them not even as a Chinese script, a fact I found rather interesting. They do have what appears to be a European language on the edge but it is half cut off at the edge. Honestly a clever coin design in those respect. Clinks like coins because they are metal. Looks like coins too. Uses: you could use these for tokens at renaissance faire or pirate themed events. You can also use them as game tokens. Art projects are another idea, you could for example drill them through to use on a necklace. There is little blank space for engraving though. The coins look and sound good, feel like coins and are a fun fantasy item whether for parties, game night, or crafting.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this pirate treasure! The coins themselves are metal and have some nice weight to them. They are very detailed and are much more realistic than any fake coins or pirate treasure my kids have played with previously. Being metal means they also sound like real coins which is a fun touch for kids. The bag is a faux leather and looks great! The only reason I knocked off a star is that the ribbon used for the drawstring is completely open on the end, which makes the cord stopper non-functional and also means it would be really easy to lose the ribbon entirely. If you push in the cord stopper and pull it out to open the bag it will pull right off the end completely. Even when I tried tying the ribbon in a knot it wasn't thick enough to stop the cord stopper from sliding right off the end of the ribbon. The only way that I could get it to not fall off is to add a bead onto the ribbon and then tie it. So unfortunately, the bag is not very functional without some effort on your part, and depending on the age of the kids using this, it could be a choking hazard. I will also note that there were two small metal rings in the bag with the coins. I'm not sure what the purpose of those are meant to be or if they ended up in the bag intentionally. But if so, perhaps those could be tied to the ribbons and how to stop the cord stopper from coming off? All in all I think the coins themselves are great! And we are going to have lots of fun setting up scavenger and treasure hunts for the kids this summer.

These are great coins. They're made of metal and come in a nice faux leather pouch. They look exactly like the product photos. The coins are molded to look a little misshapen like real pirates gold. They come in 2 shades for some variation. There are 40 coins in the pouch. These are great for kids parties, for cosplay outfits, board games or for treasure hunts. They are thick enough that they won't bend. They're made of a non-toxic zinc alloy, not lead. These would be good for ages 6 and up. I would avoid giving these to a child younger than 6 because they could potentially choke on these. Because they're made of an metal alloy, you can use these with a metal detector. It's a great way to test out your metal detector and practice in your yard. These would also be great for geo-cache hunts. Overall, I think these coins are great and the price is very reasonable for $14. I would definitely recommend these.

I picked these up for a pirate-themed game night where we needed something to use as currency tokens, and they were a significant upgrade over the printed cardboard cutouts we'd been using. The coins have real weight and produce a satisfying clinking sound when you pile them up or drop them on the table, which sounds trivial but genuinely adds to the mood of a game session. The gold finish is bold rather than subtle — they look like costume coins, which is exactly right for this context. At 40 pieces the set covered our table's needs without running short, and the size feels correct in the hand, not too chunky but not so small they get lost. The detailing on the face of each coin is readable without being elaborate. My honest note is that they're all identical in design — if you were hoping for a variety of coin types or denominations you'd want to look at a mixed set. For pure atmosphere and game tokens, these do the job very well.

Arr matey these be a fine hoard of treasure! Bought these for COSplay and RPG times for my man and he loved that they came in such a nice pouch too. We both only hoped they'd have a little more clink to them, you know, sound a little more metaly than plastic, but other than that they're excellent. Every replica coin looks like a doubloon and ready for high seas adventures. Set the main sail straight into fun, for here there be treasure!

Seriously, these are really cool Spanish doubloon replica coins! And they're actually metal, which adds to the awesomeness. Unlike other plastic ones. The included coin purse is also really nice and leathery, but it comes with one of those push-button "cinchers" which looks a little too modern. So we took that off and just tied the purse strings into a knot for authenticity. They're small-ish, about the size of a U.S. dollar coin, although a bit thinner perhaps. Not sure what size the originals would have been? But these seem like they would be the right size. And besides, with the design and the metal sound, and how shiny they are....they're impressive no matter what size they are. Really cool. High quality, high value purchase. Definitely recommend!

These coins and pouch are detailed and well made. The coins are consistent in their markings, and the gold plating looks very good and uniform as well. The pouch looks realistic, if a little too "pretty" for playing pirate. I know the coins are a zinc alloy, but it's still a bit of a surprise the quality you get here for the price. Right now the 40 count bag is about $13, which seems like a good price for something that's actually decently made.

I'm kind of shocked at how good these are. They clink around in the bag like real coins... well, because technically they are. If you're doing a theatrical performance and want to sell the reality, they make the sound you're looking for. They look shiny and new. I suppose you could add some patina to age them. The bag is nice as well and if I one complaint is that the fasteners is modern. Outside of that, there's no complaints. Good value for the money.
