I was skeptical from some of the reviews, but we are glad we purchased this scale. They contact you to set up delivery time and to make sure you can unload it or if they need other arrangements to unload. I missed the first call and didn't hear back. I contacted them through Amazon and heard from them within 24 hours. She then gave me her phone number that I could call or text and things went very smoothly from there. The scale itself has been working very well for us, we have ran our feeders through at least 3 times already (40-100 head each time) and is still working great. ... show more

    • Customer Service is a problem
We are currently having issues with this scale that is about 9 months old and used once. We are trying to get customer service to get back with us but currently having no luck with them actually calling back or even answering the phone after the initial call. If I can get this resolved and the scale working again, I would probably change my rating. ... show more

Giving you the whole experience because I am a skeptical buyer and would consider this a large purchase. A lot of the other reviews mention shipping being a problem, but getting the scale wasn't an issue for us, and it arrived quickly. The shipping company used a semi truck with a lift gate on the back. We used the gate to lower it into the bed of our pickup and drove it to the barn. My husband unloaded it by hand which it was pretty heavy for him, but it is doable. We didn't have to move it far luckily. When they call they say you need equipment to unload. We did not, but others may. The only bad thing was, as you can see in the pictures, when we unboxed the plug in was slightly bent so much so that the indicator cord would not plug in. Instead of sending it back, we took pliers and gently rounded it back to where the cord would plug in. Calibrating it was definitely the worst part because the manual that comes with it is useless and needs to be updated to match the newer style indicator. I had no idea the calibration switch was under the black plate on the back of the indicator until I Googled a video. The scale also has to sit on a level surface to give you an accurate reading. Luckily we have a little bit of concrete in our barn because after the initial weighing on the dirt floor it was so unlevel that it was off 50-75 pounds. (Almost sent it back on this one). We bought this for weighing show steers and hopefully this one will continue to meet our needs. ... show more

We had purchased a different scale from another manufacturer earlier, the scale platform was too small and the scale head died after 4 months. After some shipping issues which PEC cleared up immediately for us. We received the scale, set it up and ran some cows through. Everything works well, the platform is roomy for our Irish Dexter cows, They don't slip off. The display is VERY easy to read and use. ... show more

Great Scale. It's accurate and reliable but it won't flatter you. If you want a scale to tell you what you want your cattle to weigh this isn't the scale for you. It tells you what they weigh, not what you want them to weigh.

These scales are super easy to use, very accurate, and easy setup. We use them on show cattle and show goats to check rate of gain weekly. Very impressed with them. High quality for a super low price.

    • Horrible experience
I ordered this over 3 months ago. On day one after about 3 cows it broke. The floor is super slick causing the cattle to slide on it. In doing so they bent the side guards which are made of very flimsy metal. This led to the next cow breaking the guard off and stepping on the wire connections and ripping from the platform. It's been nearly 6 weeks of contacting the seller. No one ever called me back. Finally I spoke to someone who said they would send a new cord. That was 5 weeks ago. No cord. I have called multiple times per day for weeks now. Always get an answering machine and never a return call. Horrible product. Worse customer service. I'm out of near $800 and still have no scale. DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

I ordered the product and it shipped immediately from the manufacturer in CA to TX. The original shipping company they used did not deliver to my farm (even though it's 6 miles from two State Highways). It sat for over two weeks at RoadRunner. After many calls to the shipping company & manufacturer It got rerouted to another shipping company. They delivered it the same day they received it. I was very disappointed that neither RoadRunner nor PEC made it happen. I had to do the work to get it delivered. I think they owe owe me a good bottle of Vodka, but I regress. Once it arrived, I unboxed it and everything was there. Well built and nice finish. Easy to assemble. Used it the next day to weigh a number of animals. Was accurate form my 46# dog to my 2625# breeding bull. Love it now that I've have it... ... show more
