This item came shrink wrapped in a compact, nicely packaged cardboard box. It comes with the scale unit, a cable for the digital display, the digital display itself, an a/c adapter, and batteries. The item can be used with either batteries or a/c adapter. It functions similar to a small kitchen scale, but has more features: able to use a/c adapter, heavier scale range, a way to hold the weight number on the display, and components to prop up different shapes / sizes of main. This shipping scale is an excellent product. I ship packages every day and had previously used a scale that had a built-in LCD screen as opposed to a standalone LCD screen. Whenever I would ship a large package, I used to have to lay down at floor level and take a picture of the LCD screen with my phone (since the LCD screen on the old scale could not be viewed properly at an angle) to determine the weight. This scale comes with a detached LCD screen which is much more convenient than how I was doing it with the old scale. My only complaint in that regard is that the cord used to attach the screen to the scale could be a little longer so that the scale could be set down somewhere and the screen could be mounted to a wall, similar to how some of the larger industrial floor models work. However, this scale is much smaller than those types of scales and I understand the reason it doesn't have a longer cord. It weighs up to 110 pounds with 0.1 ounce accuracy which is high enough since most of what I ship doesn't exceed 60 pounds anyways and the accuracy is always spot on. It is very important to be consistently accurate since the difference of an ounce can determine whether an item I've sold will be delivered on time or if it will be returned to me for insufficient postage, so the 0.1 ounce accuracy is a great precise measurement. It also has two flaps that fold up to accommodate smaller packages and mailers. In addition to the battery powered option, the scale also includes a USB cable and AC adapter which allows you to power the scale using the USB adapter. The USB connection is solely for power, as this is not a USB connected scale that you can use with your computer to automatically pull the weight readings into your shipping software. The battery powered option allows you to use it anywhere and the size is small enough that it is conveniently portable. Overall, this is an excellent shipping scale that is built with quality and has most of the features you would want (including hold and tare). I really like this scale alot and I'll had several in the past. I've had it for a couple months now and it works great. I've compared it to the weights given by the post office and FedEx and it's been spot on. I run it on batteries all the time and I love that's it so compact and light...I bring it with me all the time to weigh stuff in my storage unit.
