Absolutely beautiful set! The mother of pearl is beautiful, the wood is nice. The pieces are kind of cheap but they are wood. My only complaint is I bought 2 of them in the ship them both to me instead of shipping one to my friend. So now I have to ship it to him.

Pieces are not the ones shown in the pictures, and some of the pieces don’t stand straight up. Oh and the box that the chess board game in wasn’t closed, kinda feels like I didn’t get a new product

Absolutely beautiful board. I originally reviewed this as a 1 because of the shipping delay. However, the purchase was worth the wait. The company stayed in contact with me during the shipping delay. I am extremely pleased to say that we love our new chess board. Well made and gorgeous top.

    • Poor quality
The case and board were beautiful but the foam used to line the box, which held the pieces, was of very cheap quality. Also the chess pieces themselves were of poor quality. Pawns of the same color were all different sizes. Other chess pieces didn’t match their counterpart. One bishop was thin and short and the other bishop of the same color was tall and thick. When received the pieces had been thrown in the box and not placed in the foam models. When I put the pieces in the slots where they belonged it was obvious they chess pieces were not matching in size or shape. Some were too big for the foam model while others were a half an inch short of the size of the slot it was to fit in. ... show more
