This was fairly easy to put together. My 16 yr old son and I did it in a fairly short amount of time. Based off of other reviews and personal experience, when connecting the two metal pieces that make up the sides, just make sure you tighten the screws to where they are fully connected. I thought the instructions were just a tad confusing there, but my son figured it out. It was easy enough for me and my son to use, and husband said it saved a lot of time. It cuts nicely, leaves a clean line, and it worked well on vinyl flooring with padding, and another type of wood composite. I would recommend, and husband thought it was worth it for even a small kitchen flooring project.

Should've gotten this before the 1st vinyl flooring project, not the 4th! While you CAN cut vinyl tiles & planks with a box knife or saw, this speeds things up so much. Mark the length, put the mark under the blade, and pull the handle to get your exact cut. Kept me from getting up of the floor so much, as well as being usable without the noise of power tools or risk of an irregular box knife cut. It does require assembly before use, but it came well-packaged w/ easy-to-follow instructions. While I've only used it on one project, it cut through better than thirty boards with no issue.

Very happy with this cutter. It was easy to assemble (great instructions and extra hardware!) Worked like a charm, didn't have any chips or problems cutting. The only complaint is the blade protector is almost impossible to to put back on the blade. I used some cut plastic tubing instead, much easier. I recommend this.
