First, I have extremely dry and problematic skin and 51 yrs old. First I want to address some complaints I read in reviews. 1) the pump doesn’t work: The pump works great. Yes, the lotion is very thick which is wonderful. A little goes a long way. If you’re pumping too quickly, trying to get too much out at omce (you don’t even need that amount) you will break it or fill it with too much air. 2) it’s Greasy: It is not greasy! Read the bottle: for “extra dry skin, body and face” if you do not have extra dry skin or worse yet extremely oily skin this is going to work for you. So please don’t leave a bad review for it doing what it’s supposed to be do. 3) Rash/breaking out: with any new product You should always test on a small area of skin first. But whenever you switch a new moisturizer facial product, etc. you can expect to break out a little bit as your skin adjust but if it’s excessive or doesn’t go away, then discontinue. Now on to what I LOVE: 1) incredibly moisturizing, and not greasy at all. It absorbs quickly into my skin and adds a protective barrier that I do not have. 2) quality ingredients: Shea butter, ceramide, and niacinamide 3) fragrance free, paraben free, mineral oil free, and non-comedogenic. This is great for very sensitive skin. Fragrances are toxic and irritating to your skin (your largest organ). 4) the moisture lasts & feels amazing on my skin. 5) a true Facial moisturizer: last but not least you can literally use this on your face. I didn’t believe it when this wad mentioned on the label. I am a huge facial product, skin care and make up fiend. I have had some very expensive facial moisturizers and have tried just about everything. I reluctantly tried this on my face at night as second to final step in make up prep with serums, under eye cream & sunscreen (which is my final step). I literally got compliments from multiple people in broad daylight when I was walking my dog telling me how beautiful my skin looked on my face. The only thing I changed was adding this as my facial moisturizer! it did not pill, separate, streak, etc. when I applied my make up and I wear full coverage make up. For the price point you will not find better. I wish I discovered this product a long time ago. It’s amazing & affordable! Thank you La Roche-Posay! Works great. Love it! Not greasy, really absorbs and moisturizes my super dry skin! One thing I have to say is to the manufacturer: put this in a tube or a tub because it is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too thick to be in a pump. The first day I had it I couldn’t get it to pump at all, just took the top off and squeezed out. The second day it finally started to pump but it was the tiniest amount and I was pumping for 5 min. Not worth the time or trouble. What bothers me on top of that is that it’s going to be a huge pain trying to get all of it out of this bottle. If it was normal lotion thickness ok cool, but since it’s not give us a tub or a tube pretty please with sugar on top! ... show more

I highly recommend this for dry skin types out there! I've used a wide variety of skin care, and I find this to be a beautiful moisturizer, wonderfully nourishing and very affordable option. You can choose to invest your money in your actives like your retinols, and you're more anti-aging products... Really good serums, depending on what your skin goals are. But, and as far as moisturizers go, this is creamy, emolient and doesn't have a strong fragrance. Highly recommend! 😊 ... show more

*Before I begin my review, let me stress to anyone about to order this item that this is the EXTRA DRY SKIN formula. If your skin isn't extremely dry, choose another product.* This thick moisturizer with shea butter worked best for me when applied immediately on damp skin after showering. It soaked in and left it feeling soft, not greasy. When I applied it on dry skin, however, it moisturized but left my skin feeling oily. Probably because this formula was for EXTRA dry skin, and my skin wasn't in that extreme category. The bottle reads that this lotion contains no mineral oil, parabens, fragrance, and is noncomedogenic. It will hydrate your skin up to 48 hours and can be used on babies, children, and adults. It's also been accepted by the National Eczema Association. I applied this moisturizer on my face, but it proved to be too rich for my combination skin and I developed small bumps. Again, I think that the dryness on my facial skin wasn't severe enough and the product was too rich. After I discontinued using it on my face, my skin returned to normal within a couple days. I do recommend this product, but you'll need to see where this extra rich formula works best for you. Two notes: * This thick lotion doesn't pump out of the dispenser easily. You'll need to use quite a bit of force. * If you recycle your plastics, only the bottle is recyclable. The pump cannot be recycled and will need to be placed in the trash. ... show more
