This kit was super fun and 100% worth the cost!! I originally purchased it for my 11 year old but she did struggle with the rope halter and got a little overwhelmed so I took over. The directions were very clear and easy to follow just a little tricky sometimes. I did opt to sew mine rather than use glue and I’m incredibly happy with the results. All of the pieces look durable and will hold up to all the hobby horse playing. Pros: -High quality material, more than enough material to make everything the kit says which was great! - Instructions contain pictures and written instructions which was incredibly helpful. - Took about 2 hours total for me including the sewing. Cons: - A little tricky for 11year old -Measurements provided were to large for our hobby horse, but I was easily able to adjust with the horse in hand ... show more

Really liked the kit, I found the instructions for the braid a little difficult to follow and wasn't able to figure it out. We would like kits with more color variations too!

    • Makes a nice Bridle, but you will need a few things…

This item arrived new and in good condition. The materials are high quality. At first, this seemed like a rather difficult DIY project. You will need to download and print the instructions as the instructions have templates for you to cut out. The instructions are 19 pages. You will also need a leather punch and rivets. A pack of rivets can be purchased from a craft store for about a $1. You will also need some sharp scissors, a ruler and a colored pen/chalk to mark the black leather. When completed, this bridle with reins came out very well and fits a hobby horse perfect. The leather is high quality and the metal (silver) looks very good. There is even enough material left to make a martingale! I would recommend this product, however, be prepared to get a few things. ... show more

Examining everything individually, I can say that they are all very strong and high quality. First off, this hobby horse halter kit is excellent quality. The materials are sturdy, well-made, and clearly designed to last. You can tell a lot of thought went into putting this kit together. Second, it’s definitely a bit of a complex project—probably not the best choice for total beginners. I started working on the halter but decided to pause until I get the matching hobby horse pattern so everything lines up perfectly. If you love detailed, hands-on projects and enjoy a bit of a challenge, this kit is a fantastic pick.
