The guitar came with a broken neck. I sent it back and am waiting on a replacement. I am not sure if it's a packaging issue or a carrier issue. It seems like a combination of both. Edit: customer service was great. I got a Bass guitar back that wasn't broken and it's good quality for the price. A great everyday use bass guitar that's easy to use. Size seems normal for acoustic and action level is a bit iffy. I'll have to get it adjusted. All in all it's a good item.

Two things keep this from being a five star review. One, there was a chip on the head that I don’t think happened in shipping. Purely cosmetic and not worth making a stink about. And two, the tuning machines are cheap and horrible quality. However, they are fairly cheap and easy to replace. The price point make this a really good starter for learning the bass. It’s not top notch quality, but it sounds pretty good acoustic and the electronics are actually not half bad. For the price, you are going to have a hard time finding a better deal.

First of all there was a problem with the original purchase but the seller is just fantastic to correct the issue I received a replacement promptly and the replacement is perfect it's a beautiful very inexpensive acoustic Bass and decent gigable electronics sound I enjoy playing this worthy bass guitar. Preamplifier EQ , it's got bridge piezo electronics and a decent preamplifier. I substituted the plastic saddle for a brass saddle generic 6 string guitar and the intonation held very close and generates a gorgeous tone. The strings are nothing to brag about to say the least they're cheapies but here is the hack I'm going to share with you all you have to do is flatten the underside of the strings with a diamond flat file be very careful not to scratch any frets and keep the guitar tuned and under tension when you do this. Then go one more pass to the underside of the strings where they touch the frets, with very fine rouge grit. I like to use those multigrit fingernail Emery boards. Voila poor Man's flat wound strings. Plays like butter. BTW the materials are sturdy and the truss rod is functional and the plek will shape up to excellent string clearance. The frets could use a good polish and if you really wanted to you could replace the nut but the nut seems to be adequate it's a graph tech knock off.

I have to admit, for the price of this Bass Guitar my expectations were pretty low. But when it arrived and I unboxed it, I was blown away. Of course it arrived de-tuned, the string tension was reduced so the neck wouldn’t deform during storage in the warehouse and the shipping time. I downloaded a Bass Tuning App to my phone and had the guitar ready to play in less than 15 minutes. The tone was perfect and I have no idea why other reviewers didn’t like the factory installed strings, because I found them to be completely functional and I have no interest in replacing them until they actually wear out. I’m by no means a professional musician, I purchased the Bass to provide backup to my wife’s Mandolin and it will be perfect for that function. It is pretty, well made, holds tune, and sounds great, and a great value for the price. What more needs to be said?

The good: The finish is great, smooth evenly applied with no drips orange peel or roughness The wood is attractive in an understated way, it's not a show pony, but won't bring shame to your game The rosette is actually really cool, not a naff decal or a sloppy fingerprinting No ostentatious badging or flourishes on the headstock The neck is flat, well shaped and quite sensual to the touch The bad: Open E is a little buzzy, gonna have to raise the nut or use lighter strings The D tuner is ROUGH, but I'm gonna replace the tuners anyhow Tuners were loose, make sure you snug them up before tuning or you'll have no end of trouble Beware the fret ends!!! They are sharper than a Ricky Gervaise monologue. I felt like I was getting to second base with a cheese grater, but a bass player should have hands made of leather and regrettable life choices, so I guess they are okay. The Meh... Resonance in the midrange is a little soft, but not terrible Supplied strings were not the worst ever, but not worth keeping The gig bag is quite flimsy, entirely unprotective, and useless except as a dust cover The provided "premium cable" is 100% basic, in the most derogatory sense. Homeless street buskers use better cables to hold up their trousers. To sum up, it's a great instrument at a price that makes me feel like I stole it, but not the perfect choice for kids, beginners or people whose hands have not been tempered in the fires of adversity. Those fret ends are a safety violation, and may qualify as a deadly weapon in some jurisdictions. Unless you play wearing roping gloves, or spent your formative years stringing barbed wire and juggling chainsaws, dress those frets before you leave even begin to slap the strings. Did I mention how sharp the fret ends are? Yeah. They really are quite edgy.
