This is a 20" plus 2" extender sterling silver gold plated lip chain necklace. The necklace is delicate but well made with a secure lobster claw clasp. So no worries over the breaking, tangling, or falling off. The gold plating is warm matching other real gold and plated jewelry. It's too soon to comment on fading overtime. This chain is a true 14" without the clasp and without the extender. It looks sophisticated and pretty, and I wasn't expecting it, but it also comes with a dainty gem, so you can wear this chain by itself if you want to move the gem and hang it from the chain. For my purpose I was going to add it to a pendant I already have so this gem it comes is just a bonus. If you're looking to gift this chain by itself, you might want to find a better box. It comes in a clamshell case with a hard plastic frame but the body of it is just plastic wrap, which has a tendency to get scratched up. They do put this whole thing in a cardboard sleeve with their logo on it, so it Can be gifted this way, but it would definitely be better to just have a classier box. ... show more
