  • This Sink sinks all others
Installed this superb sink last week. The packaging was top notch, no damage upon arrival. This is a high quality sink at a great price point. The stainless steel seems sturdy and my tall, gooseneck sink spout no longer wobbles when used. The sink has has nice deep basins, heavyweight 18 gauge steel with a nice finish, great soundproofing underneath and a good rating (I saw a Forbes magazine review of top-ten sink brands and Krauss was in the mix, fourth or fifth). My countertop opening was a shade too small and I had to trim an eighth of an inch off with an electric saw to get the sink to drop in. I don’t know if the problem was my countertop or the new sink but that was the only difficulty with installation. I’m totally happy with this sink and I think you will be too. Don’t hesitate, buy it. You’ll be glad you did. ... show more

  • Very nice sink
Bought this sink as a replacement in the laundry room where the old white plastic sink was showing its age. I had to saw the countertop hole larger. Beware - make sure your hole has rounded corners. I did not pay attention so had to do a little cosmetic work to cover up my square corners (good enough for the laundry room). This sink is solid, nice looking, and came with two sink strainers (not all sinks come with those) - easy to install. My previous drainpipes underneath the sink worked pretty well, but I had to do a little modification. I will definitely recommend this sink! ... show more

  • A Wonderful Replacement Deeper Sink
Just a great sink. Replaced a builder's model, and has changed our expectations forever. The depth, soundproofing, and brushed nickel finish make it a very good looking change to our kitchen. Having the faucet mounted on the sink also cleans up the install and protects the counter from leaks. Be careful that your cabinet is large enough to suit this sink - I had to carve ours out to accommodate the larger template, but still have enough wood left to safely support it. One nice feature are the included accessories, and the excellent packaging that got it safely to our home. If you're replacing a shallower sink such as ours was, expect to have to do some fussing with the plumbing to accommodate the lower height. The sink hold-down system can be problematic to install, and IMO could be improved. As it's brushed nickel, consider getting a sink grid (12" by 13-3/4") to protect the finish of the bottoms. ... show more

  • Solid 18 gauge sink, some installation quirks, good value for the money
We bought a $30 cheaper big box store 20 gauge sink (but it didn't have strainers so adding that in, it was nearly same cost as this Kraus). We bought it quick, as it was a bit of an emergency, as our old sink was leaking (the strainers rusted out, I guess they weren't stainless). Even at 20g vs 22g it was too flimsy we thought, and had some dark spots/blemishes on it. Just put a bucket under to catch the drips in the mean time, then settled on this one at 18 gague. It looks better (nicer finish but still gets water spots and scratches like I think is normal anyhow), and is more solid with 18g. Nice soap dispenser, bigger bottle, you don't have to re-pump it each time to get the soap back up into top, it stays there ready to go. Regarding installation, our original cut out someone did was all wavy/crooked, and as some mentioned, the rails underneath this sink are slightly further out toward the edge, thus it may not fit if you're replacing a sink and you'll have to cut the counter more. The problem with that is 1) hopefully having the right tools (jigsaw works best, along with drill bit or something that can sand fast, for the finer work) and 2) the fact you maybe need to just take off a bit, which a jig saw can take too much, and sanding too little, so it's a pain and also 3) you'll need to do it evenly from all sides to keep the drains lined up with the plumbing to avoid issues there. The next installation quirk is the strainers, great that it comes with them and they are nice, but you get 2 kinds, one basket strainer with basket to catch food/debris you can remove and a nice cap that fits with sillicone seal to fill the sink with water. The other is a more normal strainer, shallow with the drain plug you press in to seal (vs old style turn). The problem with the strainers is underneath, they are different lengths underneath so the pipe/plumbing connecting the two to drain them won't be level and will be angled and harder to screw on, may not seal quite as well, and can put pressure/strain on the strainers. May need plumber to help with that if you can't get drain pipes screwed on or have leaks. I was able to make one end of pipe longer with tailpiece addon, long story though. ... show more

  • Love my new sink.
The quality of this sink has to be seen to be appreciated. First of all, the sink was packed in a great reusable cloth bag to protect it from getting scratched during handling. Once it was installed I was amazed at the quality for the price I paid. It's really deep which aids in washing lots of dishes. I don't use a dishwasher so the deep bowl can hold a lot of dishes that get a head start on soaking while I'm washing. It has great soundproofing, unlike some of the cheaper sinks. This sink looks very high-end and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone in the market for a new sink. ... show more
