  • Quality sink, beautiful and impressive too!
Size: 36 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
The quality of this sink is equal to or better than most bigger name brand sinks. Packaging was almost overkill. The sink was covered with protective film, wrapped in a cloth bag, protected by thick foam, and packaged in heavy duty cardboard box that was taped and strapped. They even provided cloth straps that can be used to carry and position the sink into the cabinet. This is a really nice and helpful touch. The brushed SS finish was flawless on the front apron and in the bowl. The metal is thick (16 gauge) and the dampening under the sink bowl is effective. You can tap on the sink bowl and it makes a solid sound - not tinny like less expensive sinks. Other nice touches include the included grate and drain (which I didn't use because of a disposal). This sink really looks impressive installed under-mount on a black quartz countertop. The large stainless apron really stands out as a kitchen focal point. This was my first deep bowl farmhouse sink installation. There are some things to look out for: 1. I installed this 36" sink on a 36" cabinet. That meant I needed to cut out the side walls of the cabinet. I glued and screwed 2x4 supports under the sink to provide support. The sink itself is heavy and if it was ever filled with water, would be very heavy. 2. To the right of my installation, I had a dishwasher. With the side cut out, I wanted to make sure I had sufficient support for the quartz counter. I sistered a support side wall between the sink and dishwasher. I would not have had to do this if I used a 30" sink but I do like the impressive 36" size. 3. The deep sink means that a disposal sits lower. This also means your drain/trap will sit lower. Since the drain needs a small slope from the trap to the wall, you may need to lower the drain from the wall. In my case, I needed to modify the drain at the wall so this worked out. ... show more

  • This sink is AWESOOOOME!
Size: 33 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
I researched this item thoroughly before purchasing it and am so pleased at the results I cannot even describe it meaningfully here. Suffice it to say the quality is everything claimed, it looks amazing in my kitchen, and it solved ALL my sink problems. It is replacing the molded in sink that I had cut away. It showed up on schedule, beautifully packaged. The straps around it made is super easy to lift out of its foam cradle. I wish other supplies of goods made getting the Styrofoam off their products that easy! The parts were all there and easy to understand how to put together because they came loosely assembled. The spare parts and little hand towel were a nice touch, too. The s/s finish is superior to many other products I have seen over the years. I really gleams softly and washes clean easily. I checked the template as the manufacturer recommends and it was perfect. Installation was not hard even tho we had to lift its 50 lb bulk up from inside the existing cabinet (that was only a little wider than the sink) to flush up underneath the existing counter top. The support flanges made setting up and securing the wood supports against the cabinet walls pretty simple. There is one caveat to that, which is to be sure your support wood is slender enough to fit past the bottom of the sink basin to the flanges. That clearance is pretty tight if the cabinet is only slightly bigger than the sink itself. I dare say a Sumo Wrestler could bath in this sink now and it would not move out of position. Thanks for a really fine product. MKC ... show more

  • Best decision I made about my remodel
Size: 36 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
I've had this sink for four years. I love it. It was one of the smartest things we did when remodeling our kitchen. I joke that you could bathe a goat in it, but, seriously, everything fits. My huge stock pots, roasting pans, sheet pans -- they all fit completely in the sink. I'm no longer reluctant to use my bigger pieces because washing them is so easy now. I find it more versatile than a double bowl sink. I can put a dishpan in the sink for washing up as I cook, but still have room in the sink to fill pots, to access the disposal, and so on. There's nothing better during the holidays. We got some teasing about it initially because it's so big and very different from what most people are accustomed to. After they use it, friends and family often decide it's what they'd like in their homes. The thing is sturdy. No dents. No dings. No deformations of any kind. The only negatives I've found after four years of daily use: 1. The metal grid is hard to keep clean. I initially thought I might not use it at all, however, I've found that I like the cushioning it provides and the fact that water drains away underneath it even if there are dishes piled in the sink. It tends to catch food and debris, which are not so hard to wash off the grid itself, but that gunk collects in the holes on the top of the plastic feet and under the plastic bumpers. And it's some work to scrub and disinfect every bit of that thing. 2. The grid has left wear marks on the sink under the feet where the bumpers hit the sides of the sink. 2. There is a slight discoloration (tarnish?) in the metal sink around the drain now after several years of use. 3. Despite care, I found it impossible to maintain the original finish in perfect condition on the front top edge of the sink. It definitely shows watermarks on that edge. The apron, however, still looks almost new. The finish on the inside of the sink is not as pristine, but it's a sink. It gets used. ... show more

  • Beautiful sink, with some oversights by the manufacturer...
Size: 33 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront (60/40 double bowl)
My husband and I bought a fixer-upper a couple years ago after we got married, so we are pretty handy and decided to re-do our countertops and replace our sink and faucet this past weekend. We did a retrofit of our 36" cabinet to fit this 33" sink (our previous sink was a standard drop-in 1970s style at 33", and with the apron front on this one the full 36" Kraus sink would have fit, but looked cramped as it would be directly next to the dishwasher). The retrofit was surprisingly easy (we found a great Youtube tutorial for a similar sink by Kohler for ideas). We opted to leave the sink edge slightly higher (1/2") than our countertop, and are very happy with the look. We haven't used it much yet, as we finished late last night and need a part for the faucet, but I wanted to leave a detailed review on the things we've noticed from our work over this past weekend in case it helps someone in the future: Pros: - BEAUTIFUL sink, and the accessories we got when purchased as a set (grids, drains, etc.) are very nice and seem to be very good quality. Looks awesome with our brushed stainless appliances and fits right in. - Edges are great-looking all the way around (note that the back edge only goes down about 2", not the full height like the sides and front of the sink, but this was not a problem when installed). - Love the deep bowls and the sizes of each. - The sink was packaged securely in styrofoam that fit it very well, and it reached us in great condition. No crate as previous reviewers mentioned. - From our initial tests (have to finish the plumbing), it seems it will be relatively quiet when the water is running. - The rear-mount drains are great and gave us some space back in our cabinet for cleaning supplies - a welcome bonus! Cons / Things I hadn't realized from product info and other reviews: - Fingerprints show easily, but seem to be pretty easy to clean off as well. - NO INSTRUCTIONS! The 4-page leaflet was inaccurate (some drawings are correctly the 33" sink as marked, but interior shows 36" measurements instead?? Very strange. We got the correct one off Home Depot's website thankfully, but the one in the box was wrong!) The leaflet only shows some dimensional drawings and future care instructions, and just says to have it professionally installed. Um, okay. - NO hardware to secure the sink to the cabinet or anything else. We're figuring out how to do this ourselves, but thought it was very odd there is nothing included at all. We are using some basic bolts and washers to try and secure it, but it's a bit of a challenge due to the shape of the bottom of the sink -- very little to attach to! - The "cut out template" provided with the sink is a large piece of cardstock with rounded edges. Note that it is NOT the size of the full sink at all, but rather is only for under-mount installations and was therefore completely useless to us for over-mount or flush-mount installation types. The template makes no mention of the fact that it only fits the bowl sizes of the sink, and not the full measurements. No other templates were provided. We also felt this was a little strange, but the measurements and angles are very straightforward and we managed to cut our laminate countertops without too much trouble. Bottom line -- Very glad we bought this sink, and it absolutely seems worth the money. However, we wish the manufacturer had put a little more thought into their materials (besides the sink itself) -- definitely could have used at least some warning about the bad instructions, template and no hardware! I'm hoping that by writing this, some of the problems may be fixed in the future, or at least other buyers will know what they will get up front! ... show more

  • Exactly what we wanted.... I would give this sink ten stars if they'd let me. Exactly what we wanted.... I would give this sink ten stars if they'd let me.
Size: 33 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
We looked all over for a sink like this. The local plumbers' supply houses had a bunch of options that were three times the price for no where near the sink... their options were all 18 gauge stainless, flat front, whereas this one is 16 gauge with a nice beefy bowed front. I was impressed with this sink from the moment it arrived in the wooden crate and packed inside a felt bag. We have been living in our new home with this sink for about two months now, and we couldn't be happier with it. It's 10" depth allows us to put drying racks inside the sink, and it's appearance is second to none. It also came with a grate that sits about 3/4" above the sink bottom, so that even when piled full of dishes, water still flows underneath. The bowed front is beautiful. against our granite and stainless appliances. BUY THIS SINK! You will not regret it. April 16, 2015 Update: We still love this sink! It has held up well. I'm amazed to report that there are no dents even with three kids in the house. Some of the other reviews mentioned rust stains under the grid and the slope of the bottom making it hard to rinse food particles. I wouldn't call it rust, but the bottom of the sink does get spots here and there over time due to sediment drying and due to food not being rinsed well. We take the grate out and clean it with Bar Tenders Friend once a month or so as needed. I'd do that with any sink though. With regard to the minimally sloped bottom and not allowing food particles to rinse easily, that is true, but among all the sinks of this style, I wouldn't call it worse than others. My faucet has a head that pulls out with a sprayer (see pics) so what I do is rinse around the perimeter of the sink, which encourages all particles to migrate toward the drain. It's a routine now so I'm used to it, but with that said, make sure you have either a faucet with a spray head or a separate sprayer for rinsing. I've seen sinks that are way more money than this one with even less of a slope. Some people asked about garbage disposals. I have a 1hp KitchenAid installed with no trouble. After using this sink for 3.5 years now, I can honestly say that we hit the nail right on the head by buying it.... no regrets whatsoever. ... show more

  • Phenomenal sink! Phenomenal sink!
Size: 33 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
We have had our 33” undermount farmhouse sink for over a year now and it is still the conversation piece of our kitchen! It fit our 36” cabinet perfectly! Having a farmhouse sink in general has been amazing but specifically this sink we absolutely love! The depth is amazing.. we chose an open farmhouse (with no divider) and I’m so happy we did because it just gives it that much more room! We have 3 kids so the sink piles high pretty quickly and if there were a divider in there I feel we wouldn’t have that much space for pots and pans along with plates and bowls.. especially around the holidays! The depth and overall size makes it easy to strain noodles without holding the strainer.. I just sit my strainer on the grate and it fits perfectly! During holiday season I can host and not worry about dishes until the end because it fits it all! The grate is a MUST! If you are shopping around, I strongly recommend getting one that comes with the grate! It just keeps the base of the sink from scratching and is super easy to keep clean! Overall best purchase we made! We also got the kraus faucet and I’ll leave a separate review for that one.. we’ve had some leaking problems with it once or twice from pulling on the sprayer too hard.. but overall it’s beautiful and the pressure is great! ... show more

  • Beautiful, great cost & meets high standards
Size: 33 Inch Style: Rounded Apronfront
I looked everywhere for an apron front sink at a reasonable price but only found lesser quality at higher prices. I was definitely worried about ordering this sink online but read a few reviews on the alternate sizes and quality compared to the VIGO sink. I needed the sink very fast and ended up getting it quickly with free shipping! I love the sink and everyone that comes over to see my new kitchen comments on how they love it too. The bottom rack that came with my sink is a MUST!! Helps a lot when people get lazy and toss dishes in the sink. I was also worried about the stainless steel not matching my appliances but they all look great together. The stainless actually looked a little grainy when we first installed it but I wiped it down with "Magic - Stainless Steel Cleaner" and it looks perfect! My only issue is the slight water splashing which hits the front ledge - which I think has to do with the height and placement of the faucet, not the sink itself. I ended up laying the granite over the edges of the sink but leaving about 1/4"-1/2" all around and it works great for sweeping crumbs and spills off the counter and into the sink. **Need a custom sink cabinet which makes it very easy to install & my husband ended up doing all of the plumbing (which he was prepared for height issues under the sink to fit pipe but I could see where this might be an issue with old plumbing). ... show more
