Ok for those who do not know the thickness of a stainless steel sink is based on its "guage." Guage when measuring metal thickness is inverse to the numerical measurement. So a 22 guage stainless steel sink is a bit thinner than a an 20 guage stainless steel sink. An 18 guage stainless steel sink is just a bit thiner than a 20 guage stainless steel sink and so on.     • Beautiful sink that was mounted with flange on top of the countertop.

This was installed on a 7/16" thick oak top that I made from some rift sawn oak. I made this for the kitchen sink in our 5th wheel travel trailer replacing a VERY cheap plastic sink that was undermounted to the countertop and pulled out of the original pressed cardboard countertop. There was not enough space to mount this under the counter - the slides on the 5th wheel severely limit the width of the sink and while the sink fit, the undersink clamps would not fit. So I mounted the sink on top of the counter top with the flange resting on the countertop. The cutout was somewhat large - maybe 1/4" clearance so watch the template size but the sink fit fine. I used silicone adhesive to attach and seal the sink to the counter top. So far it is holding well and with the stainless flange on top of the countertop I don't anticipate the sink falling out of the countertop while I own the trailer. The only caveat is that the drain that comes with the sink, while it is very nice looking, is VERY deep and I went with a shorter drain that I got for $15 so I did not have to modify the original plumbing. Not a beautiful as the original drain but it looks OK. ... show more

The product was great but did not fit our dimensions. When we returned it Amazon had a default button of crediting it to an Amazon gift card instead of original payment. We did not see that when we did the return and we called when we realized what happened. Amazon would not do anything to change the credit method. BEWARE and make sure you check your credit method when returning items on Amazon. We are a long time loyal customer and very upset that nothing was done to fix the mistake.
