Looks like a bit of a switcheroo here as what I ordered was the Tank M3 Ultra, and now this page is for the Tank M4C--a different watch. My review is for the Tank M3 Ultra. I found the watch to have a nice bright and clear display, although most of the downloadable themes you to change the look of the watch face were too loud or cluttered for my tastes. There were a couple of simple themes that I found suitable, however. There are a fixes set of built in "apps" for various things like placing calls, a compass, stop watch, calculator, etc., covering all of the watch's features. They are accessed either through a menu with icons and names or a configurable set of just icons. The menu does not seem to be in any particular order (definitely not alphabetical) so it can be troublesome to find the specific app you want to use. To download themes, update the watch, place or receive calls and texts, upload health data (heart rate etc.) requires their app to be installed on your phone. In fact, although the watch claims to have GPS, I could not find any way at all to access any GPS capabilities without using their app on my phone, and so it does not seem like the phone has GPS capabilities at all. It seems to just use my phone's GPS capabilities, and so I'm forced to wonder what benefit the phone or app even give me in that regard. I would also prefer if I did not have to use a third-party app to tie in with Apple's Health app on my iPhone, but I'm not sure how possible that is. Being able to read incoming texts on the watch is nice, but I highly doubt I would ever use it to make or receive phone calls. I have not worn a watch for a few decades, so I'm not really used to it. As I get older and have some health and sleep issues I have been contemplating a wearable device to tie in with my iPhone's health tracking features and for sleep tracking and so this watch interested me. But I am a medium sized person with wrists on the smaller size and as someone not used to wearing a watch I found this one to be quite bulky and heavy for me. I found I Just Could Not sleep with it on: far too distracting and a bit itchy and uncomfortable with skin not being able to breathe under the included band. These may not be issues for someone who's used to wearing a watch (particularly a bulky and weighty smart watch), but they were too much for me. I personally would probably better off with a device that's just a fitness tracker in [small] watch or ring form. The watch came with a tempered glass screen protector so you don't have to buy one separately if needed, which I thought was a nice touch. ... show more

Terrible. I really wanted to like this watch for its apparent build quality and price point. The music downloading process was very cumbersome and during playback would drop off every ten seconds. I should have started with an Apple Watch, which I eventually purchased. Plug and play. Music is great. I waited weeks for this watch, and it still managed to surprise me. It’s built like it expects to be dropped, slammed, rained on, and kept moving. The stainless steel body and thick Gorilla Glass screen give it a solid, confident feel — not delicate, not fragile. They put it through more military tests than most people will ever need, and it shows in the way it wears. The only thing I didn’t care for was the band, but that’s an easy fix and not a dealbreaker. The GPS is one of the strongest features. It connects to six different satellite systems, so it doesn’t lose signal the moment you step off the sidewalk. It also has a compass, barometer, and altimeter built in, which makes it feel more like a field tool than a casual smartwatch. The waterproofing is serious. This isn’t “rinse your hands” waterproof — this is “swim, dive, shower, and keep going” waterproof. It even has a feature that expels water from the speaker with a button press, which is something you usually only see on much more expensive watches. It tracks swimming with a SWOLF score, which is what real swimmers use to measure efficiency. Battery life is another standout. It charges in about an hour and then runs for over two weeks. After being used to charging my Apple Watch daily, this feels like freedom. The processor is smooth and efficient, and it doesn’t drain power the way most watches in this price range do. Calls and voice assistant features work well. It handles music, weather, alarms, and timers without hesitation, which is convenient when your phone isn’t nearby. There are over 170 sports modes — more than I’ll ever use — but it’s nice to know they’re there. It also recognizes several activities automatically, so you don’t have to remember to start a workout and there are mini video workouts ON this powerhouse. Health tracking is solid. Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, stress, and reminders to move — all accurate enough to give you a clear picture of your day without pretending to be medical equipment. The watch faces are a nice bonus. The free ones look better than the paid ones, and there are plenty to choose from. Overall, this watch is doing everything short of cooking breakfast or fetching my shoes. It’s rugged, reliable, and surprisingly advanced. After using it, I honestly like it better than my Apple Watch. For what it costs, the value is undeniable. ... show more
